Trade
A language created by sailors, Trade quickly spread across the seas and became the most commonly understood language in the known world. Being a mishmash of many of the languages that border the ocean, most folk encountering can at least partially understand what's being said without actually learning the language.
Geographical Distribution
Trade is spoken commonly in port towns and by sailors and sea-faring merchants. It has also recently begun to be spread further inland in larger countries as traders branch out more.
