Family names

Glacehom use the first name of their father as a last name, adding "sen" to the beginning.  For example, Fjornir, whose father was name Gretar, would be named Fjornir Sengretar.   Some Glacehom instead use a descriptor of their job if they did not know their father.  For example Orson Windwaker, maker of boats in Chausson

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

Almost all Glacehom speak Giant and Khillish.

Culture and cultural heritage

Believing themselves to be the descendants of the Icequake giants, the Glacehom are deeply protective of their lands.  Though their numbers have dwindled since the Kingdom of Khilland and later Northern States continued expansion, they remain a powerful northern presence.  Rumors abound of secret Glacehom clans that live north of the Saltmarsh rift alongside their supposed ancestors.

Common Dress code

Traditional Glacehom wear many layers of furs and coats, suitable for living in the cold north.

Art & Architecture

Few to no permanent Glacehom settlements are known of, and if they do they are a long-held secret.  The nomadic people built most of their residences of wood, snow, and inside the natural caves of northern Khilland.  All are simple structures.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

The Glacehom value strength and endurance, and groom themselves to appear as toughened as possible.  It is not uncommon to sharpen tusks in the culture, though most leave theirs dull for practical reasons.

Gender Ideals

Glacehom duties are strongly divided between men and women.  Men are expected to hunt, tame the northern woolly mammoths, and are ritualists.  Women are fishers, gatherers, and brewers.  Both genders raise children, build and sculpt, and perform other survival tasks.

Courtship Ideals

Glacehom hold massive courtship gatherings during the winter solstace, where both genders may select a mate to stay with for the next year.  This process is repeated yearly, and both partners may choose new mates for the next year.  For many, this celebration is a reaffirmation of a couple's commitment to eachother.

Relationship Ideals

Glacehom tribes are small, and it isn't expected that any will meet their perfect mate.  Relationships are expected to build on mutual respect, and the couple may even grow to become fond of each other.
