Khandrat Hegemony
Our Works Will Endure Eternal
We are the perfecters and tamers of the raw of this world. We have mastered stone and gem. We now will master the people of Capacia. It is in our nature, it is our duty.- King Parin Stonefury IV
Structure
The Khandrat Hegemony is ruled from the capitol of Khandrat by its King, currently Parin Stonefury IV. Beneath the King, the government is controlled by the Master of the Forge and the Lord Marshall. They split the duties of building and destruction, respectively. A Council of Elders advises the King. Finally, the priesthood of the Stonehand faith and its Archbishop control the religious lives of the Hegemony. Outside Khandrat, cities and their surrounding lands are controlled by the appointed Governor Generals.
Public Agenda
The Khandrat Hegemony's goal is complete political domination of the lands of Capacia. Believing themselves to be the destined to rule, the Khandrati spare no expense or life in their quest.
Assets
The Hegemony is very wealthy, having mined the island of Khandar which is rich in gemstones, gold, silver, and iron ore. The original cities of the island have been built over millennium to be nigh impregnable. Their weapons and armor are made by the Mastersmiths of the Great Forge of Khandrat. No other army in the region can match them in the field.
Demography and Population
While Khandramar Island is mostly inhabited by dwarves, the Hegemony's lands are now filled with all races. The Dwarves are content to allow most of their lands autonomy as long as they follow the general guidance of the crown of Khandrat.
Territories
Originating from Khandramar Island, the Hegemony has mastered all of the island except the impassable mountains of the King's Crown pass. They have mined much of its interior and have now spread to the mainland of Capacia. Much of the Western coasts of the continent now is under their sway. They are challenged to the East by the Three Hearths, the Northeast by the Surestine Freeholds, and the Southeast by the Orclands.
Military
Lead the by the Lord Marshall, the King's Army is expertly trained and well equipped by the works of master armorers and smiths. Every regional capital is run a Governor general with a heavy contingent of troops. Currently the dwarves can only be matched in the field by the combined might of the Freeholds and the Three Hearths.
Technological Level
The dwarves are master craftsmen and artisans. They have tamed the raw element of the world into strong and mighty cities. They build quickly and build to last the ages. The dwarves have many monolithic creations. Their army is equipped with steel plate armor and might siege works, though they haven't been in open battle for decades. The Hegemony is second only to the Gnomes of the Freeholds in their inventiveness and technology.
Religion
The dwarves subscribe to the Stonehands faith.
