The Burning of Bradgada

Disaster / Destruction

250AnCog

Bradgada, the former capital of Isendree, was, as the survivors told, burned to the ground by a fire started in Prince Calogero chambers, which spread to the rest of the castle and then to the city. The citizens fled down river with the Prince, his wife and child, setting up a new capital, Kiara, on the coast.

Prince Calogero is the only living witness to the starting of the fire. At the memorial for his father and mother, who had died in the fire, the then king told the survivors what had happened. His father, King Pádraig, had gone mad and thought that his son was going to kill him. Full of fear his father confronted him about it, which he innocently denied. Angered by the princes "lies" the king set the room on fire in an attempt to save his own life. The prince barely escaped with his wife and child, although he tried to save his mother she insisted on going back for the king, dieing in the flames.
