Dwarf

People of the Mines

The favorite creation of Odalof, the Dwarves were made in his image, and with his desires. Working with Menamentos, Odalof made a home for the Dwarves nearest to the cave systems and mineral rich lands, for them to expand, and explore. However, when Odalof and Menamentos were both killed in the War of Gods, the Dwarves changed from what they were. Some stayed on their path, continuing friendly relations with other species, and in the war binding together with them, to fight the forces of Krackle. These came to be known as the Lowland Dwarves. Some became isolationists, wanting to live the rest of their lives away from troubles not involving the mines. These Dwarves went high into the mountains, and shut themselves off from the world for centuries. They became known as the Highland Dwarves. And lastly, some Dwarves decided to join forces with the forces of Krackle and assist him in the war. Some of these Dwarves became his craftsman and collectors, making weapons and finding precious materials for him, and his army. After the war, these Dwarves had spent so long in the Darklands that they had changed into the Deep Dwarves.

Dwarves of the World

Dwarves around the world are just as varied as the humans. Lowland Dwarves, being the most common, can be seen doing any kind of work under the sun, but have a tendency to continue with artisanship of some kind. In contrast to this, the Highland Dwarves are almost strictly known as miners, but have many differences in their societies. This path of Dwarves have become known to be battle ready, and are almost inseparable from their armor. Lastly, the Deep Dwarves now live in an extremely rough environment, and as such have become to incentivise strength of will, mind, and body above anything else.

In the Eyes of the People

Dwarves are for the most part a respected species, and one that is baked into almost every culture imaginable. They are known as artisans, specializing in architecture, smithing, and brewing, and are also known to hold their drink fairly well.
