Endless War Period

Roughly two and a half centuries of endless warfare, 100-350 AoM.   Famous throughout the continent during this time for its constant hiring of mercenaries. Land of blood and silver, or something like that. There were even psychopomps with aspects dedicated to foreigners- unlike typical Cotd-aligned psychopomps, they didn't have a 100% success rate, and had to manually colect souls by being present at battlefields etc.   The origins of the term 'Shrouded' come from this period, the deific connotations only existing much later. It was originally a title for warlords, almost exclusively those mad enough to bind monsters to themselves in their quests for strength.   The main reason that the Pitch Black Forest is so poor in ores is that it was all mined in this period, forged into equipment and coin; the latter of which often left the region. It was once one of the richest regions, absolutely brimming with silver, aluminum, and platinum, along with above-average amounts of gold.
