Coeus
Archon of scepticism, deductive reasoning and critical thought.
Coeus favours those who do not blindly accept everything they are told and use their own reason and logic to determine the truth for themselves.
There are many folk tales about Coeus appearing to lords, peasants, travellers and so on, disguised as an old hermit, a young monk or a beautiful woman and playing tricks on them to determine if they can deduce the truth for themselves.
He is know in many cultures as a bit of a trickster, but the tales always make it clear that it is not out of malice, but a desire to encourage independent thought.
