Stonehall

Stonehall is the seat of the Wintercross Earldom and the Capital of the Weald. Despite being a small Earldom, Stonehall itself is a grand castle, positioned on a hill close to the mountains, it commands a great view of the valley and has an excellent defensive position. The Outer walls extend around the hilltop providing plenty of room within, with the keep positioned at the highest point. While not as fancy as some of the other castles in the realm, Stonehall has a good reputation for being sturdy and powerful. Stonehall has never been lost in any wars or conflict, it has only ever changed hands once, hundreds of years ago when the original lord relinquished command of it to the first Wintercross.
The Castle is capable of holding a significant garrison though it is not always kept at capacity.
