The Sunken Palace is a historic building located in the city of Eastmere, in the swamplands of Milenora. It is an ancient elven structure that has been partially submerged in the marshland over time. Despite its age and condition, the Sunken Palace remains an important and iconic symbol of the city and its people.
The palace was originally built by the Elves of Eseri Milenora, before the city was destroyed in the first cataclysm. After the second cataclysm, when the human decided to rebuild the city on the ruins of the elven city, the palace remained abandoned for many years. However, as Eastmere grew and developed, the palace was eventually rediscovered and put to use once again.
Today, the Sunken Palace serves as the city hall of Eastmere, and is the ancestral home of the powerful MoonGazer Clan. The palace was the residence of Mayor Zinzira MoonGazer, who moved the city hall into the palace after she gained power. The palace has been expanded and renovated over the years, giving it a patchwork appearance that reflects the city's resilience and diverse residents. The parts of the palace beneath the swamp have been drained, and are still used.
The palace is open to visitors, offering tours of the palace and its history. The palace also houses important documents of the city and its residents, including genealogies of the prominent families in Eastmere, records of the city's history, and a library of books and manuscripts that document the city's culture and heritage.
