Sol III

"The loss of Terra was the most terrible thing ever, up until we realized just how things really were...
— The shape of things to come, Amanu Shigae, 2348, Terran Meritocracy.

  "How does a planet vanish?"
"Obviously, it didn't vanish, but someone sabotaged, very throughly, all our navigational systems, such that we no longer have the coordinates!"
"By my geneparent! Any idea who could pull that off?"
"Whoever it is was reaching over low latency quantum link, from the direction of Sol III itself."
"Convenient, so Birthsphere wanted us off?"
"Someone on her did, someone with knowledge, certainly."
"But we are their best gene-expressions! This makes no sense."
"You would know better than I, commander. I do not think whoever did this did it with fanfare."

Geography

Divided into the continents of Eurasia, Africa, America, Oceania and Antarctica, Sol III, otherwise known as Terra or Earth, is probably known to most of you by now. In the world of Hammersphere, Terra is a distant memory, bordering on a myth, except for the fortunate few who have recently(less than 30y) met its diplomatic envoys.   Orbiting Sol with a period of 365.25 days, and orbited in turn by Sol IIIa aka Luna/Selene, Sol III is preceded by Sol I(Mercury) and Sol II(Venus) both aggressively unsuited to life, and terraforming efforts failed spectacularly on both. By contrast, Sol VI(Mars) has been terraformed, and countless orbitals have sprung up in the asteroid belt, colloquially known as Sol 4.5

Ecosystem

Twenty billion Homo Sapiens call the Sol System home, and twelve billion of these are located on Sol III.

Localized Phenomena

The list of natural wonders on Terra is quite extensive, but from a macro perspective, the tides, influenced by Sol IIIa come to mind first.

Climate

Sol III has thousands of climates and micro-climates, but most areas on its surface have been modified to make them survivable to Sapiens Sapiens.

I added some details, but this is pretty key to this world, so I'll be adding to it on and on over a longer period, certainly past spooktober 2022.

I've also beefed up some of the meta, do let me know if it helps make it more understandable
