Session: 10 Brechlen, Home Again. Report

General Summary

Lyra was on of the first up. She left a note for Reign in her bed before heading to the Mage's Tower to use the library.
Reign, Fargrim and Karl got up and had breakfast together before going their separate ways.
Big group events:

• Karl found Xeldarix at his family's forge. Through showing off his new spells to his sister, he upset Xeldarix who broke the nose of an apprentice who got in the way. Fargrim came over to repair the damage.
• Lyra and Lily went with Steve to take Pearl home and discussed information about the Kraken and the murders about town.
• Fargrim and Reign went and bought weapons in preparation for the hunt they were going to take on that night.
• Xeldarix and Reign had a conversation about the murderer and later in the day took a little girl back to a family friend.
• Lyra and Karl ran into one another and discussed legends.
• Xeldarix and Lily have a conversation in their room at the end of the day before dinner.

Individual events:

• Fargrim went to the Sailing Song of Neira Temple before being called away to assist Karl with a small problem. After doing his cleric duties he visited two different districts to try and get information about Dwarves and their history in the area while making contacts. After that he went back to the temple to touch base with them there.
• Karl spent the majority of his day in the library doing research. After talking and walking with Lyra he went to his family's house for dinner.
• Lily after getting back from taking Pearl home made contacts in the city before going to Éla's Suppression of Shadows. She met a couple who had were seeking help after one of them was cursed by a witch. She made contact with High Priestess Fulda Spiritwalker before heading back to the inn.
• Lyra went to the library and did some research before she went on her adventure with Lily. Upon making it back to the city she returned to the library to continue her investigation.
• Reign went to visit the two nobles from the contracts. Her first stop was with Sasha that left her with the feeling something was wrong as someone or something tried to read her mind. The second was with Galloway who was interested in what Reign and the group could do to assist. Later in the day she meets up with Fargrim.

Later in the day, after some dinner the group shares information up in the privacy of Reign and Lyra's room. Information shared (that is not listed in above adventures):

• The Kraken which is an awnshegh is a animal/beast/monster type unlike Justinia who is human type of awnshegh. It is coming further south then usual for this time of year.
• Xeldarix was unable to leave the plane if she wanted to right now, but if banished she would be free to travel as she likes again and would not be responsible for her actions upon her return.
• Fiends are often hurt by silver (not weak to, but resistant to)
• There is a statue of a Dwarf who was a war hero for rescuing and hiding children during the war 100 years ago. Afterwards he disappeared but was heading for Mount Archestuel.
• The innkeeper of the Welcoming Hell Hound knows about the goblins from the ruins you encountered.
• Xeldarix tells the group she is not sure why she feels the way she does about the group and it makes her uncomfortable.
• A snake had been stealing stuff from the library.
• Lyra shares an image she had made a copy of with the group and said it was related to Sunnis, the thing the Goblins from the ruins prayed to.

After sharing information the group makes a plan with Galloway when he arrives in a private space of the inn. Karl acts as bait with a light marinate of whiskey for good measure. Lily uses Pass Without a Trace to assist the group in their stealth as they follow Karl. Within an hour, the prey has taken the bait! Karl is dragged into an alleyway. Xeldarix attempts to help, but her teleportation brings new challenges to the combat as three Drow Elite Warriors and a Drider follow her out, taking advantage of the hole. The Drider is stuck in the alleyway.
The rest of the group run to catch up, Reign takes a side street to try and provide an advantage from behind. However the stuck Drider proves to be a challenge. Xeldarix deals with the Drow while the rest of the group take on what they discover to their prey was a Bearded Devil. They are so close to killing it, but it teleports away and three more Driders take advantage of the new entrance to the light world and come out into the street.
Karl realises the level of danger this represents to them and the town, he sends a message to Steve requesting help and starts to run towards the Mage Guild. Galloway joins him while the others go into the alleyway. The Driders give chase, enjoying a chance to play with their food. Once the Drow and alley stuck Driver are dealt with the rest of the party run after their friends.
Steve and four of his Druid apprentices meet the group in one of the main squares of town near the Watch Headquarters. Galloway was almost killed but Karl and Steve hold the Drider's to present them from going further into the town. Reign is the first to catch up, taking the Drider that is slightly behind, preventing it from going after someone else. Eventually Xeldarix, Lily, Lyra and Fargrim all catch up. Karl helps keep Xeldarix focused on the fight as she struggles with her rage. Together with everyone working together the creatures are defeated. Lily passes out.
Just as the dust starts to settle, Fulda Spiritwalker and 10 of her acolytes show up and cast Slow on Xeldarix. She is hit with a barrage of spells before Fog Cloud steals the sight of the battle from the group. Fulda banishes Xeldarix and the priests all cheer! The group is stunned. There is silence and confusion. Some try to question Fulda but she brushes them off.
Five minutes pass since Xeldarix was banished when a tear in the fabric of space reveals Xeldarix, but looking different. Now she has horns and wings. She goes Fulda, grabbing her and flying so high before pile driving her into the ground. Fulda still lived but dazed by the impact and Xeldarix uses this moment to put her dagger through Fulda's heart. A blast of fire finds Xeldarix caught on fire and a pulse of energy throws Xeldarix off and she uses her wings to shield herself.
Fargrim tries to convince the priests to leave, but they are frozen in fear. Karl goes to check on Lily. After a few moments Xeldarix flies off, leaving everyone stunned.
Steve headed back to the Mage's Guild with anyone who followed. A druid who stayed at the tower tells them that someone tried to attack in the short time Steve was gone.

Missions/Quests Completed

The murder was discovered to be a Bearded Devil, but it got away. Multiple investigation were carried out.
