Basic Information
Dietary Needs and Habits
Wolves live and hunt in packs of around six to ten animals. They are known to roam large distances, perhaps 12 miles in a single day. These social animals cooperate on their preferred prey—large animals such as deer, elk, humans and moose. When they are successful, wolves do not eat in moderation. A single animal can consume 20 pounds of meat at a sitting. Wolves also eat smaller mammals, birds, fish, lizards, snakes, and fruit.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Wolfpacks are established according to a strict hierarchy, with a dominant male at the top and his mate not far behind. Usually this male and female are the only animals of the pack to breed. All of a pack's adults help to care for young pups by bringing them food and watching them while others hunt.
Domestication
They were very common as companions for rangers and druids.

Historical Figures
The Wolf
An awnshegh is a mysterious and shy beast that is rarely seen outside its current territory; its range of movement is known to change with the seasons and the encroachment of elven and human settlers, but there has been little change in its territory in decades. Wolfgaard, the official name for the Wolf's territory, can be found in the inhospitable terrain south of the Hag's Domain and north of Grevesmiihl, bordering on the eastern edge of Krakenspiel Bay. Wolfgaard, while mapped and referred to as a distinct and separate domain, is simply an independent group of provinces under the regency and control of Hjorig.
