Lamplighter Enid Well

Enid always wanted to stay in Wolfwater, even as her parents kicked her out of their house and gave her a TWA licence, just to give them fame that their daughter was a Tome Wanderer. She wanted to stay where nothing was new and she didn't have to talk to anyone. She had a reputation for being unfriendly.
So she took the job of Lamplighter, and made enough money to get a house at the edge of town. (Lamplighter involves lighting the lamps at night as well as being a sort of detective if anything unwanted comes in the night to Wolfwater).
Tread arrived from elsewhere in another town and they became friends after realising how much they could do for each other. Tread accepted her and stood up for her in words, while Enid took physical action. Tread moved in with her after Enid realised she was living in a small treehouse.
They then lived a quiet life but for the demanding job of the Lamplighter and Treads accidental arguments with the neighbours and run-ins with her parents.
