The Great One
This is a monotheistic belief system practiced by many peoples of the
Tighláhrubha (Southern) continent. It speaks of an all powerful deity who created men in his image and placed them on the lands of Ærnth. They consider the planet
Grombo (as they call it) to be The Great One traveling across the night sky to view the
World of Ærnth and see that all is in balance. With the Shangar Alignment to be the day that men were placed on the earth and thus that day each year is a celebration of the balance that The Great One maintains.
It is believed that he did so after creating all of the animals of the world, and being content except for the fact that the greatest of his created beasts, the mighty Rhino had no predator and one day may eat all the plant life that exists within the lush jungles. So, he created man, who while smaller, was also intelligent and could be taught to keep a balance between the creatures and plants on Ærnth by harvesting and hunting what was needed to sustain themselves using tools that
The Great One taught them to make from stone and wood (and eventually the use of metals and other materials were learned).
As such, their beliefs including living in balance with the natural world and not over harvesting or hunting anything.
