Gretchen Slater

She is known as "Gretta" to the locals and regular customers at the K4-5 Grey Tortoise inn & tavern, where she works for Wijnanda Whinegardt as part of the waitstaff. The shortned version of her name normally refers to a very young girl, and with her full name being of northern origin (despite her lineage being from far to the south-east). But her father chose to name her differently (especially since her mother was of local decent) than what is common for their culture due to having moved to the Channel Cities long before she was born (and long before the Northern Empire took control of Martelain) to escape some power struggle in their homelands and with her father having worked for years installing slate roofs, they also adopted her current surname.
