A strange storm erupts and runs rampant over all the known lands of the World of Ærnth for 66 days; with high winds, rain, lightning.

Some claim that it is a sign of the weakening of the power of the various deities, while others claim that the veil between Ærnth and the Void is weakened by some evil force. It is later discovered that after this ethereal and supernatural event, that on rare occasions, this veil between dimensions will temporarily tear open. This often results in strange effects or the appearance of strange creatures that are not part of this world.
