Hedges

The Hedges, under the auspices of the Council of Wolves, are often those born into less fortunate circumstances, neglected or unable to be nurtured by their families. In times when the city's guardians are scarce and its defenses falter, the council mobilizes its citizenry. The forsaken offspring of the impoverished, along with those who cannot fend for themselves, are dispatched to labor camps and educational facilities until they come of age.
Originating from diverse backgrounds, the majority of the Hedges hail from the ranks of the underprivileged. Those who endure the rigors of their early training are deemed formidable. However, bonds of friendship are fleeting, as many who fail to meet the training standards are relegated to the labor camps. The enduring lesson for a Hedge is resilience, emerging from the ordeal with undeniable strength.
Trained across a spectrum of military and law enforcement functions, the Hedges serve as a versatile workforce. Upon completing their training, most are assigned to the most challenging and menial tasks. Despite this, they serve with contentment, believing their previous life concluded before their training commenced, and now they bear a profound sense of indebtedness to the Hierophant for their newfound purpose.
