Ozafe

I feel sorry fo those creatures, tugged about in the sweltering heat of the furthest south. But then again, there is a sense of hippocrasy as i say that, for we do the same to our stallions and mares

Anatomy

General Appearance

The Ozafe are 4 legged vertibrate speices, most known for both their use as work animal and for the comodity that is their tusks. Most of the time, although this can vary by location, their hair is a brownish colour. However, black and/or white-haired Ozafe aren't rare.

Senses

When it comes to senses the Ozafe have, overall, better senses than humans and human-like

Their senses are based on their status as prey animals, even if they are rather large. They are lateral-eyed cretaures.

A Ozi's hearing is good, and the pinna of its ears can rotate up to 180°, giving the potential for 360° hearing without having to move their head at all. Noise too impacts the behavior of these animals and certain kinds of noise may contribute to stress.

They also have a great sense of balance, due partly to their ability to feel their footing and partly to highly developed proprioception—the unconscious sense of where the body and limbs are at all times. Their senses of touch is well-developed, with their most sensitive areas are around their ears, and eyes. They are able to sense subtle contact, too.

Conservation Status

Where possible, many citzens boardering Areatus Mountains will try to protect these animals who so grately assist them in there caravans and transporting of heavy goods. However, there has grown to be a sort of black market for their fine tusks. Whether these are to be mere ornaments, meant to show hunting prowess, or to be apart of the oramentation of folks up north.
