The Senu II pilgrims and their escort, Barry, come under attack by the ambitious Gurratan Lieutenant Sebo Lommar and a small team of his soldiers at the derelict Orbak Rig, but are able to mount a successful defense, despite resorting to improvised explosives and one-on-one combat. Following the battle, the pilgrims find themselves busy manning and operating the massive Kankurra G-07 MX LHe3 tanker, which they choose to fly into a Saebian port, selling the helium-3 for a hefty profit, which they split with the stranded rig workers.
The Senu II pilgrims and their escort, Barry, come under attack by the ambitious Gurratan Lieutenant Sebo Lommar and a small team of his soldiers at the derelict Orbak Rig (a "crawling" He3 rig and refinery owned by the Gurratan government on the Far Side of Chellok). After an initiating his attack with a kinetic missile, which renders the pilgrims' orbital clipper, The Crosspoint, inoperable, Lommar attempts a tactical three-pronged infiltration of the rig: 1) de-oxygenating the rig's air via the main server, 2) taking the isolated pilot Fal hostage to use as a bargaining chip to gain entry from the landing pad, and 3) docking his ship at the emergency lifepod arm and re-opening the airlock. This complicated approach however gives the pilgrims and the Toolpusher, Ozo Trog, time to reunite in the command room of the rig, plan, and implement a coordinated defense.
Derax and Ozo rig mining explosives at two entryways while Barry monitors the rig's cameras and informs the team of the enemy's movements. Nama channels her rage to save Fal and prepare herself for battle.
With Fal as their hostage, Lommar and two sugrans gain entry to the rig and are met by Nama and Barry who attempt to barter for Fal's life. When negotiations fail, Nama challenges Lommar to single combat to end his grudge with the Senu II pilgrims. Lommar hesitates but is reluctant to back down from the challenge in front of his men, who he has led to the Orbak rig on an honor crusade to avenge the lives of their fallen sugrans, so he accepts.
The towering Lommar proves to be nimbler than Nama expects and he draws first blood, cutting through Nama's vacc suit. As Nama reels, Barry and Derax start to question whether she knows what she's doing. But just then, Derax's rigged mining explosives are set off by two of Lommar's soldiers attempting to enter from an external stairway, which starts venting air from the rig. Lommar and his men stumble from the explosion and pressure change, but Nama steadies herself and pushes the attack, knocking Lommar down towards another hidden explosive. Barry signals to Fal to get down and gives Ozo Trog the codeword to detonate.
The explosion disintegrates Lommar along with the emergency docking doors, accelerating the depressurization. In the ensuing chaos, Derax elimiates the remaining two Gurratan soldiers and rescues Fal. While Ozo Trog, Derax, Fal, and Nama make their way towards the Kankurra Tanker, almost prepped for take off, Barry loots the remaining half of Sebo Lommar's corpse for his smarfo and combat blade, which he gifts to Nama in accordance with the sugran custom of taking the weapons of the dead to honor them.
Shortly, the Kankurra G-07 MX LHe3 tanker gets underway, and the pilrims find themselves busy with manning and operating the massive vehicle. However, the Kankurra's broadcast signal is picked up by multiple eager buyers: Pohon Chakar, Gurratan Minister of Resources, Colonel Eskin Jivo of Delos, and Lady Hiroden of Omron Company. Barry, new to Chellok, tells the pilgrims he will follow their decision on where to dock and sell the LHe3, but stresses that his He3 is a key to opening doors on Chellok. After debating, the pilgrims dock in Saebian port, which is ultimately advantageous to Delos, allied with Saebia.
The much needed LHe3 is sold higher than market rate for a total of $6,751,890. Although Barry attempts to renege, Derax and Nama convince him to honor the deal and half of the payout goes to the rescued rig workers.
