Session 16 – The Lost City – Priest of Zargon
General Summary
After completing a much-needed long rest, the group decides to double back to the rooms of nearly catatonic Cynidiceans.
Sylbella, in an effort to see if they can get any information from them, uses Lesser Restoration. Alas these poor souls are so far gone or entranced even this has little effect. Still assuming that the gamblers will not react, Gunkyn goes back to the casino room and manages to sleight of hand a fair amount of coin from the card game table. But as he does so, he thinks he hears the sound of a door being unlocked the locked again.
Feebs then searches the room and locate a secret door on the south wall, but this proves to be a mistake as it immediately opens and now they are face with a group of hobgoblins lead by a human who orders them to kill the “thieves who have come to steal from Zargon!”.
As they take on the priest and his guards, suddenly the entranced Cynidiceans also begin to attack and move to block any route of escape. Knowing that they cannot hope to take on that many foes, the team fights their way into the secret room and Gunkyn manages to get the door shut and locked with only one of the catatonic commoners making it in before he can do so.
During the fight, Feebs knocks the lone Cynidicean unconscious, figuring he is under a spell and does not deserve to die. Meanwhile, the hobgoblins and priest prove are dealt with, even if while enduring several wounds.
