Velvet Claw

While the Velvet Claw is frowned upon for its illegal practices and its long reach, it is also respected for enforcing anti-slavery practices and child protective services. The Claw itself acknowledges that laws change from place to place and what may be illegal in one place isn't in another. They also acknowledge that bad people exist and that sometimes they are protected by some of the very laws they break requiring a need for those outside those restrictions. Knowing this, the Claw works to protect children from as much of the world's ugliness as possible, enforcing this viciously at times to guarantee that the message is firm. While ruthless in both business and enforcement, the Velvet Claw also strictly watches over its own and any Claw members (or freelancing rogues seeking induction) found violating the Mandates of The Clowder, face swift and public retribution to prevent further violations as well as to limit the collateral damage among the common folk.
