Chapter 2 - The Wilderness of Caleah

General Summary

After a hard night of partying, the adventurers came back into Silver Town to look for Sir Mallay, a disgraced and drunken paladin. Along the way, they ended up meeting a cleric named Tequila Cambow, a follower of Amagus, who was introduced to them by Bishop Ealdfrig. The party teased him about his name due to his abstinence of alcohol, and brought him along. They would go back to the Silver Chalice Inn, asking the bartender Lahfre for food and drink as well as asking him about the location of Sir Mallay. Given a tip to look for him in the local jail, they scarved down their food and went off.
They found Sir Mallay in the local prison, who turned himself in. After questioning him, the party gathered that Sir Edward was hiding in the forest of Caleah, south from Silver Town. On their journey there they encountered a local forester, a halfling named Seldwig Lightfoot. He requested them to help him kill some giant spiders terrorizing the woods, and they agreed. The party set up camp for the night as dusk fell. Riley would hear voices on his watch, and a curious Gilliam inquired about it. Riley would head off into the forest, with Gilliam trailing. There, Riley met the mysterious Lady of the Lake, who offered him power to change his own fate as long as he did some tasks for her. He would agree, having his rapier enchanted into the Fatebender, all while Gilliam watched Riley talk only to himself.
The next morning, the party headed with Seldwig to deal with the spiders. Gilliam would proceed to sneak up on some of the spiders and attacked the largest one, while the party managed to shred through the rest of them. Riley realized his new power, using the power of his personality and will alone to bend reality. The spider he killed vanished from the face of the earth. Then Riley proceeded to pick some Rosemary since the Lady of the Lake commanded him. The rest of the party was freaked out by the disappearance of the spider, and many of them questioned what exactly Riley did the previous night. He hid the pact to himself.

The Party

Riley Woodhame: Riley Woodhame, human fighter and warlock, is a member of the Hearthstars (an organization based on gathering information under Amagus' teachings). His search for power and knowledge led him to find the Lady of the Lake, giving him an inkling of control over his own fate.

"The Amazing" Slytoff Han: Slytoff Han is a magician! A gnome wizard, he seeks to find funding to create a magic show and has traveled around County Ellis to show off his skills for potential audiences.

Wulfric Cisboren: Wulfric is a human fighter, who hails from Obesfeld, and a former housecarl. He appears to be a man of the north, covered in furs. Recently he has been talking more in a Norden accent, and has been behaving more like the Dwarves of North in his fighting style.

Gilliam Wulfstan Maydestone: Gilliam is an aakocra swashbuckler, as well as an urchin that grew up in the city of Ebenwald. With his skills with the blade, he seeks higher up contracts to fill his pockets.

Tequila "Teq" Cambow: Teq is a cleric of Amagus, devoting his life and services to the god. He was introduced to the party by the local bishop of Silver Town, searching for field experience and for building his faith.

Rewards Granted

The party did not collect much. They only scavenged the remains of the spiders they had killed, with Wulfric taking several spider legs and biters, and Riley collecting a bit of spider venom from the remaining spider.

Character(s) interacted with

• Sir Mallay: Mallay was a former Paladin of Cardia who broke his oath after assisting Sir Edward in an unknown crime. He made a blood oath with the man and refused to help the party kill him. He is currently in prison, as he turned himself in.

• Seldwig Lightfoot: A halfling ranger, Seldwig is a Lysandan forester of the land and knows the forests of Caleah like the back of his own hand. Though the party finds him incompetent, he has at least helped them travel through the forest relatively safely.

• Vivian - The Lady of the Lake :A mysterious being, the Lady of the Lake called out to Riley in order to bestow him power for some bizarre reason she did not explain. Known as a legend maker, she gave Riley instructions to gather a bunch of Rosemary.
