Edmund Swansong
Edmund Swansong was the pretender King of Mywick in the year 1A 4350 when Gromherjek Kin-Eater deposed his first cousin once-removed, Edith Swansong, from her title as Queen. He based his rebellious operations against the dragon in the village of Bexton, where he ruled as Earl.
History
Edmund Swansong was born in the year 4325 to his father, Harold Swansong, and his mother Elizabeth. Harold was a heir to the throne of Mywick ever since his cousin, Edith, became Queen. However, he died early in Edmund's childhood, and thus Edmund became the heir of Mywick. As Edith never had any children, this remained true. Edmund eventually grew to adulthood under his mother's supervision and inherited the title of his father, which was becoming the Earl of Bexton. He ruled the people of Bexton rather quietly, unsure of his fittingness to be ruling the people.Events of "The High King"
Edmund was one of the first people to learn that Edith Swansong was killed by the dragon Gromherjek, being told by a party of adventurers who delivered the exile Mywickians to his town. From that point, Edmund was awkwardly declared the King of Mywick. Edmund, however, had no idea what to do with the exiles: he lacked the funds to feed them imported grain, and their stores were already not as full as they'd like. He asked the adventurers to deal with a Kobold problem in their mines, if only to open back up their source of income to feed these people. The adventurers did as he asked, and he thanked them for their help. Edmund deliberated with the druid Nilrem, and determined if Mywick was to be liberated, they needed the assistance of the other kingdoms. No High King had been elected in a decade, yet it was a time for unity in the kingdom. Weeks later, Edmund sent troops from Bexton to assist King Aethelred of Feller's Rock fend off the Danen on the Silver River. However, many casualties were had.Remove these ads.
