Morgainne the Enchantress

Enchantress Morgainne (a.k.a. "the Fey")

Morgainne was a powerful enchantress in the lands of Albion during the year 4350. She allied herself with the Sons of Ormulf in their planned invasions. She was ultimately killed at the Battle of Cemedri Magicus.

History

Morgainne was born in the town of Mywick. Not having much of parentage, she was adopted into the mages college of Cemedri Magicus, where she developed her skills as an enchanting magician. However, with a lack of parentage, she desired company and attention, as she never received love when she was growing up. Thus, she began to use her enchanting magic against other students against their wishes. Though the mages of the college had no issue with practicing such spells, Morgainne abused their trust when she started to use her magic against the teachers themselves. She was put on trial before the Arch-Mage Odmund. Morgainne was sentenced to exile into the fey wild, to be dealt with by the elves in those lands.
However, what Morgainne found was not the elves, but the company of hags within the land She learned hexing and other dire magics from them, and became accustomed to the fey magic. She preformed a ritual to become hex-blooded, infusing her own body with fey magic, and her skin become pale as a winter day, and her hair becoming blacker than ink. She was a being of terrible beauty, and would use that to vanquish her enemies. She learned teleportation magic and found her way out of the feywild.
Morgainne came into the company of Gromherjek, a terrible dragon of the north. She tried to enchant the dragon, but the dragon laughed at her efforts, but pitied her. He took her under her wing, and promised Morgainne revenge against the mages of Cemedri Magicus and the peoples of Albion. She used her natural beauty and fey magic to entice many in Albion, and used enchantment magic to infiltrate the ranks.

Events of "The High King."

By the year 4350, Morgainne was tasked to strike against the people of Mywick by Harald the Horrible. She used her magic to enchant a local group of orcs in the northern Kirkwood Forest to raid the fleeing Mywickians when Gromherjek was done conquering the city. Her plans were foiled by the efforts of four adventurers, who defeated the orcs and ensured the safety of the Mywickians. During these times, she came across an estranged duplicate of John Harvard-Heming, whom she began to enchant in order to manipulate for her bidding. She then found the John that was with the party of four around the end of November, and taunted him about knowing the secret of his "better half." She tried to enchant the real John, but failed, and then left his presence to return to her plotting.
Evidently she was present in the Dragonscale Mountains as she took one of the Bifrosts and used it to conjure an army of Danen outside of the city of Feller's Rock. She was defeated by Nilrem and escaped toward Cemedri Magicus. At Cemedri Magicus she was confronted by the pyromancer Ardor, who ultimately slew her after a battle of spells and wits.
