The Crater

The Crater is the only settlement in The Glowing Sea, and is home to the The Children of Atom. Led by Mother Isolde, they have an agreement with The Commonwealth Minutemen to trade foodstuffs for Ash Flower and two of the three variants of fungi that thrive in the Glowing Sea.

Demographics

The Crater is solely inhabited by members of The Children of Atom due to its location in the highly radioactive Glowing Sea.

Government

Due to the small nature of this settlement, there's not much in the way of "official" government. Mother Isolde is the de facto leader of the settlement and handles nearly everything from leading prayers, to dealing with any petty crime, to organizing trade agreements with the nearby Commonwealth Minutemen

Geography

As its name implies, The Crater lies within the crater that played a major part in creating the Glowing Sea. The walls of the crater make an excellent natural defense, as there are only three entry and egress points, one to the west, one to the south-southeast, and one to the north-east. The pit of the crater is filled with a moderately deep spring that provides water for both the Children and their plants.

• Ash Flowers are the primary export.
• Brain Fungus and Glowing Fungus are secondary exports.
• Treeshrooms provide a source of food and construction materials.
• A natural spring at the bottom of the crater provides water.
