The Book of the Transmuter

The Book of the Transmuter was first penned in an era long past. The Sorcerer Valucarnis was but one of the known co-authors of the Five Books of Magic. The Transmuter talks about the creation of several monstrosities by combining two living animals in less than favorable ways. Many morbid details are listed in the process of 'unspeakable mysteries', which explains the breeding procedures, and the rituals for instant results. Mistratha, according to the book, was just one of many hundreds of experimentations, though one of the few that worked. Smudged out is the process of creating the Mistrathas if the rumors are to be believed.   Massive ants with the severed heads of slaves were meant to be the builders of massive infrastructure. Smaller ants, with red bodies and the heads of clones, would have been the standing armies, able to fight without stopping or need for sleep. The book derails this text and begins describing glass weaponry, only usable by these ants, in order to fight against creatures from beyond space. Wolves and Dragons are next, and the author claims that they must be bred with foreign birds and snakes, in order to fulfill a biological purpose in creating a perfect specimen for humanity.   Despite the lack of evidence to support any of these claims and experiments, the book is nonetheless filled with descriptions of horrific monstrosities. Too many-legged creatures, those which take the shape of other stranger animals, and beasts which walk on two feet like that of mankind. Apes with human faces, and gills growing on their necks.   The books can be accurately summarized as foolishness by the learned, however, there is a subculture of scholars who have fully dedicated themselves to this esoteric knowledge. Although many truths have been discovered no one speaks much on the contents.

Classic "discredited but maybe still true" document, very neat. The topics are all spread throughout the paragraphs, though, so it might benefit from a little restructuring. I also like the idea of ants being engineered into slaves, it fits with their behavior.

Thanks for the comment and advice!   You're right about the article needing a bit of rework. Even having a table or something similar along the side might help too.
