Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Kuro is generally physically fit, thin and lean. Can run for hours and hours with a built up stamina to survive days long hunts.
Body Features
Leanly bodied, Kuro is a typical build of 5'10", with several scars along his arms and legs from various stupid mistakes a he would call them, during his hunts of the past. His skin is deeply tanned from being out in the sun so much on the Seeker, and freckled from the Huntress Malase. He has antler nubs at each temple, and sometimes he swears they grow just a little.
Facial Features
Typically human, Kuro has a plain face with visible cheekbones, due to his thinness. His green eyes are that of a pine forest, and are quite observant, constantly flitting about and taking in the world around him. Sometimes people find it hard to garner his complete attention due to lack of focused eye contact. Normal features otherwise.

Borderline twitchy eyes, Kuro is known to take in the entirety of his surroundings every time he enters a space.

He wears worn, common clothing befitting a sailor and a wedding ring.
Specialized Equipment
Has a bow and quiver set his wife gave to him made by the craftspeople of her village and enchanted with their magic. The quiver never runs out of arrows. He prizes this possession quite highly and is constantly assuring that it is there, and in the highest condition.

Personal history
Kuro is a typical laborer adventurer on board the Shadow Seeker. He's a surprisingly loyal man to the Captain, but everyone's sure he has his own motives for being there, especially since he is usually the first to get off the boat and look around. He was born on the Western Continent in Uvard, among the human population of the world, but he didn't stay there for long. He was quickly drawn to a life among nature, and hunting was the only thing he could truly say he felt he belonged with his own kind doing... so he left, in search of the most dangerous, most honorable hunt.
He left for Veridian, said to be the most sacred of hunting grounds, and home to the largest, most dangerous prey of all. Many hunters of Uvard used to speak of going there one day, but he never knew anyone who had gone, let alone any who had survived. One day he saw the most amazing of moose, larger than any house he had ever seen, and truly one with the forest; covered with moss and odd small creatures he'd never seen before. He knew it was divinity that brought him to the spot, and immediately bowed to the impressive creature, knowing he would never beat such an object of game.
The goddess noticed his reverence, and bestowed upon him a blessing: he can now speak simply with animals, so that they may communicate an honorable death as they so deserve. It may have also had the side effect of giving his face and arms a freckled complexion, and a set of nubbly antlers at his temples.
After this occurance, he left Veridian to explore more of the world, the small country was too noble for the likes of him.
Sometime later, deep in the forests of Malan, while he was speaking with a lady fox and her cubs, he met his wife, an Ooskaran elf who was bent on killing him right then and there, but saw the animals did not fear him, and lowered her bow.
They married, but Ooskaran elves are highly distrustful of outsiders, especially the greedy, war hungry humans, so they had to leave. The only other refuge for Ooskarans is in Eastern Murake, so they went there.
They were happy, but she only survived 2 short years, dying in the process of giving birth to their daughter, Sefri. She lives in Malan with her mother's family, to be raised 'correctly' as they said to him in their strongly worded letter.
His deity met with him during a heated hunt after this occurence, and they spoke at length. Afterwards she gave him a missive- to look for the most illusive of creatures, perhaps ones even she, Melase, had difficulty finding, and to bring them to her. He currently follows this mission, hoping its fulfilment will help with the emptiness left in his heart after the separation and grief in his family life. Because that is his entire mission right now, he figured the Seeker would be his best chance of making it happen, thanks to the crew's reputation for traveling the world over.
Sexuality
After his wife died, Kuro has never been known to show an interest in anyone, and is nowhere near as promiscuous as some of the crew, but will sometimes take a lover for a night to scratch an itch.

Middling Education in a typical town schoolhouse in Uvard.
Employment
Currently works as a laborer aboard the Shadow Seeker. He's very good at tying knots thanks to his history as a hunter in Uvard, and is useful for this employ aboard the ship. He is also a go to for hunting down food when the crew needs more resources. Has been assigned as the ship scribe as well, to keep record of all items and people aboard the ship.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Has won hunting competitions in Uvard, as well as a blessing from the Goddess of the Hunt herself.
Mental Trauma
Is afraid of connecting with people, for he doesn't want to lose more of the people he holds close. As such, he keeps everyone at a distance, despite his friendly disposition.
Morality & Philosophy
Believes in only living to hunt, only hunting to eat, and only eating to live. If anything in his life gets him a little closer to this ideal, he will take that opportunity.
Taboos
"A wasted, unused kill is the most dishonorable thing a person could do in this world."
Doesn't particularly like killing, in any shape or form. Will defend himself, but also will refuse to land the killing blow.
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
His motivating factor is to see his daughter alive and well again, and to do that he has to complete his mission to Malase. Every chance he gets, he sends her letters and small prizes on messenger birds and uses the Fukibi mailing services heavily. This is where a majority of his pay goes towards. He is always ecstatic when she writes back, even though she is still quite young, and the letters are almost illegible.
Savvies & Ineptitudes
Likes to talk and is rather optimistic by disposition, but he won't let you inside the shell until you're very very close to him, which he prefers to avoid, so you might witness him keeping you away.

Family Ties
Because he left to explore the world, Kuro has severed most of the ties he had to his old family, excepting the master that taught him hunting in the first place, a half-elf elder in his village. Has some ties to his deceased wife's family, especially her sister, but they don't like him because he his human, so only the sister willingly writes, and it's almost always to boast about the daughter they are raising for him.

Because of his positive attitude, Kuro loves to talk a lot, unless he's hunting, then he is as quiet as the grave. He has a soft smooth voice.

Kuro is of a middle lower class family, and is moderately wealthy. Owns a home in Malan for his daughter to live in if she so desires, as well as a small estate in eastern Murake. Both are attended by a friend, and have moderate assets available to them.
