Civil Technician

Job Description:

  A Civil Technician, often working closely with Civil Engineers, plays a crucial role in the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of various infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, buildings, water supply systems, and sewage treatment facilities. This position requires a blend of technical skills and practical knowledge of civil engineering principles.   Key Responsibilities:  
  • Assisting in the preparation of design documents and drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
 
  • Conducting site inspections and surveys to collect data necessary for the planning and design of projects. Participating in the testing of building materials, such as concrete, asphalt, or steel, for construction projects.
 
  • Supporting project managers and engineers in scheduling and coordinating project elements. Monitoring construction sites to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and government regulations.
 
  • Preparing reports and documentation on project progress and technical findings.
 

Educational Requirements:

  A diploma or associate degree in civil engineering technology or a related field is typically required. Some positions may require a bachelor’s degree or specialized certifications depending on the complexity of the work and the employer’s requirements.

  • Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
