Hi there! My name is Denton Watson, and I am a Chief Transportation Engineer with a passion for designing efficient and sustainable transportation systems. I am 54 years old and live in the beautiful state of Oregon, surrounded by the lush green forests and stunning mountain ranges that make this region so special.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University, and have been working in the transportation industry for over 30 years. In my current role as Chief Transportation Engineer, I oversee a team of engineers and designers who are responsible for planning and designing transportation infrastructure that meets the needs of communities throughout the Pacific Northwest.
I have been married to my lovely wife, Celia, for over 30 years, and together we have raised three amazing children. Our oldest daughter, Annie, is 33 and works as a software developer in Seattle. Lilac, our middle child, is 29 and is a successful freelance writer and editor. And our son, Joel, is 24 and recently graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Environmental Science.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring the great outdoors, and playing music. I am a self-taught guitar player, and I love nothing more than sitting down with my acoustic and strumming out a few tunes.
As Chief Transportation Engineer, I am committed to creating transportation systems that are safe, sustainable, and accessible to all. I believe that transportation is a fundamental component of any thriving community, and I am proud to be part of a team that is working to build a better future for the Pacific Northwest.
