Duncan Flack
I am Duncan Flack, a police officer in Northern Tasmania. I've been in law enforcement for 15 years, but that doesn't mean it's been easy. Dealing with crime and violence on a daily basis can take its toll, both physically and mentally. It's a constant battle to keep a positive outlook and to not let the job consume me.
When I'm not on duty, I try to find solace in the outdoors, fishing, hiking, or exploring Tasmania's stunning landscapes. Photography is my passion and it's a way for me to capture memories, but it's also a reminder of the ugliness and violence I witness on the job.
I am currently in a relationship, but balancing my work and personal life can be a challenge. I often struggle to disconnect from my job and to not bring my work stress home with me.
My family is important to me, but our relationship can be strained due to the long hours and constant danger of my job.
All in all, being a police officer is not for the faint of heart. It takes a certain type of person to handle the physical and mental toll it takes. While I love serving my community and making a difference, it's not without its challenges and sacrifices.
