Confusion and Collapse: The Arrival of Familiar Faces

As people gather, Detective Karl Jenkins, in a state of confusion and desperation, brandishes his gun at the approaching figures before recognising familiar faces and ultimately collapsing.

In the aftermath of his surreal struggle with Luke Smith, Detective Karl Jenkins becomes aware of approaching voices. Scrambling to his feet, he instinctively grabs his gun, pointing it at the advancing figures with a shaky hand. In his disoriented state, Karl warns them to stay back, threatening to shoot.
  As the figures draw closer, Karl recognises Beatrix, her silver hair and calm demeanour standing out amidst the chaos. He demands to know what "Clivilius" is, his voice laced with desperation and confusion. Beatrix responds enigmatically, gesturing to their surroundings and assuring Karl that it's okay.
  Another familiar face catches Karl's attention – Jamie, whose presence only adds to his bewilderment. The gun falls from Karl's grasp as a wave of nausea overwhelms him. A young man steps forward, introducing himself as Paul Smith, Luke's brother.
  The revelation, combined with the inexplicable events and overwhelming sensations, proves too much for Karl. With a cry of "I'm dead," he collapses into the dust, his body and mind succumbing to the darkness that envelops him.
