Coanda

What may have occurred to make this planet the way it is? Perhaps massive objects from the heavens, or a mystical object beneath the earth.   Whatever may be the cause, no one can get back to the ground anymore, and must remain up in the skies above atop their isolated islands forever.   Or do they?

Geography

Coanda is a planet with a large surface, most of which has never been seen by the inhabitants. The majority of which live in the sky, atop floating islands being carried upon giant gusts of wind coming from the surface.   Each island has its own residents, with their own resources and materials that come up from the gusts of wind surrounding their respective islands. Some have plentiful rain fall while other have a variety of minerals. The islands tend to take on a bowl shape due to the erosion from the wind smoothing out the bottom, with a mound on top from accumulated material once the gust breaks from the island's friction.   There exist anomalies in the sky, with differing cloud formations, floating sphere lakes, odd wind patterns, rising rains and lightning, and various empty gusts of wind that can be used to glide to further off locations.   The surface is unknown and legendary, thus not much is suspected of it. Various specialists claim it's a barren wasteland, while others claim it's a flourishing paradise. No one knows for certain.

Fauna & Flora

The flora varies from location to location. Some plants have grown on the bottoms of the islands, evolving to become flat and wide in order to collect sunlight from the few hours they have access to while being pelted by tons of wind pressure. Others are simply trees on top of the island surface, and some even float endlessly on gusts of wind in the sky, taking in nutrients through other means and growing in that manner.   The fauna consists of various animals, many adapted to floating near endlessly in the skies, with some gliding abilities or powered flight, only landing on islands to forage, hunt, or mate. The island fauna varies from location to location as well, due to the isolated nature of the islands, but some are adapted to the top, while others to the bottom. There also exist floating lakes filled with a variety of fish life that can always return to their floating spherical lake.   In both cases of flora and fauna, there exists particles of "Geim" inside, which allows the creatures to be immune to impact damage and solidify upon pressure increase. This allows for creatures and plants to develop with little hardship in regards to specific kinds of trauma.

Natural Resources

The resources vary from earth, to wood, to stones, to livestock, to water to most that you can imagine, each island generally having a few resources it specializes in.   Among the special resources, however, exists Pasca. Pasca is a special gem that is collected from deposits on different islands, and distributed through trade. Its main feature is to allow users to channel their magical power through it to create pressure changes in their environment, usually a small distance from said Pasca gem.   All resources contain "Geim" particles, which make certain forms of manipulation quite complicated. So forms of forging through heat, soft pressure application and cutting tools were developed to manipulate the materials in order to construct their housing and objects.
