Leaving Known Space

Discovery, Exploration

The start of it all, the Expedition leaving Terran Space and heading out into the unknown systems of the spiral arms of the Milky way, trying to find a means of Terraforming. The two Nations of Terran People, put forward funds and people who were to the best and brightest to work on the problem. The Military supplied the personnel for the defence and to finish mapping the arms of the spiral.

The Expedition was lead by Commodore Achilles Lawson. He was on the Thames, the Dreadnought Orion Class, named The Thames, he preferred to use this ship as the flag ship due it being the largest Military ship of the Expedition

He had 20 ships of various sizes and capabilities, which included 5 Exploration Dragonstar Class, which were the last of the colonising ships that Terran Gov had approved to be built. Military ships included, 2 Scout Cruisier Adventure Class, the White Lion and the Firedrake, 2 Scout Cruiser Pathfinder Class, the Diligence and Pollington, 2 Survey Echo Class, The Mistral and the Liverpool, one Survey Vagabond Class, the Saladin, one Destroyer Matador Class, the Plymouth and the hospital for the expedition, Pleiades Class, the Anna Theresa. The last five ships were refitted Ferryboats Destiny Class, Montrose, Sandown, Alexandria, Bountiful, and the Duke of York, each of these were their stores of animals, food, plants both land and sea, manufacturing for all products to supply the expedition, and extra people to be settlers and works for these ships and planets or where ever they settled.

The Exploration Dragonstar Class ships were The Griffin Captain was Prudence Gallagher, The Chimera Captain was Darius Tanner, Atlantis Captain was Bazel Mitchell, The Excalibur Captain was Holly Wallace, and The Trojan Captain was Elias Bowthe.

All Military and their families that chose to go with them, were on the Explorations Dragonstar class ships, along with extra personnel for administration side, engineering and logistics for the Expedition. Then there were extra people who the Imperials felt should be added, miners they called them but they were a rough group and cowered, which did not sit well with the Command Staff and the Commodore but they were unable to protest or give censure though they saw them as trouble in different ways.
