Dodo
The supermassive void of space had infinite possibilities, varities, and somethings called the coincidence. There is a chance that an identical objects could exist in twin or multiple subjects, and smaller chance to be living things - and that's exactly what happen to the Dodo.
According to the Records from the Ancient Earth, this species had gone extincting long before the humanity can reach out the space. Living in the remote island, the people found it while exploring the vast ocean to trade the oversee nations - simillar to what they do these days.
Dodo is one of the most pacific species. Since they had no hostile creature to be worried about, the only predator it encounted and hunted to the extreme, was the human themselves. It's by far the example of colonialism victim showing how destructive the human could be.
The Perfect Twin
It was only a thousand years afterward. In pre-confederation era, one of the ancient earth nation's expedition ship went on surveying an habitable planet in the unknown system. When they stepped on its soil they can't believe what they had seen. The sample they took, matured, alive and healthy, contained not only had an identical appearence, it also had an identical genetic characteristic.
Unlike their ancestry, this time people had been awared. They learned and documented all of its alive body when back then they only learned from its skeleton. It had been bred and distributed back to Earth - on the same island they used to live. The planet also be classifiled as the first zoo planet, where it whole purpose is to put any creatures around the galaxy for study, conservation, and tourism. it had been named Terra Raphina in honor of this discovery.
Present Day
Dodo birds have become the common species to be found in any colonized and terraformed planet and moon, being raised for both pets and foods. According to the encyclopedia at the Conventum university, there are 100 million birds in the whole C.S.E, not including of beyond the outlaw zone.
I lost track of the last few entries on Lavani's Reading List but I'm catching up now. I'll share it on the Community Tab on Thursday. Here is Lavani's Review: It is amazing to recover a lost species. It is also a rare find to have a place that can be used to study and conserve species from so many different planets. I want to know more about it.
