Prismals

Prismal is a type of species inhabiting on the planet Pristallin. These living things are made of crystal from the same planet.

The expedition team of Gavin Bowsher found prismals as soon as their ship land the Pristalin - thousand years ago. During their 4 years of surveying they analyse the entire species, collecting samples and doing experiments in which they found out so many things.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Prismals come in various form, but most of them are simillar to foxes, deers, and sometimes as the aquatic species. The crystal clear shell can reflect all of the light passing through, created a shiny, colorful skin - so mythical it could've belonged in some of epic fantasy artworks.

Under their hardened crystal shell are the soft silicate tissues. They have the cell structure as the ordinary life form except it's made of silicon. The organ are simillar to its appearence.

Biological Traits

The scientists found out that Prismals do not breath to survive. Their lifespan can be extend up between 200 years to even 10,000 years.

Dietary Needs and Habits

In the encyclopedia, they eat crystal or other silicon-based prismal as the main food source, not on the bedrock but the cluster grown around the planet lake. Also they can drink some water which is riched in silicon.

As a result they are the only species to produce a Living Silicon, the material being used in various hi-tech electronic devices. They excrete it as byproduct which can take about several days to a few weeks.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Everyone realized that the Prismal meats doesn't what any hydrocarbon-based liveform can digest. Since they're silicon-based, all parts can be used as a material for electronic components.

They are being sold in very high price. Some of them become the silicon producer though not a popular choice, or become the favorite pets of the upper-class people which is certainly a more popular choice.

Nature Harmonic used to try replicating of these species. They succeed growing Prismals to look famillar to more well known animals including cats, the best of its kind. They stopped the project after the incident on Meatson.
