The Divine Gate
The gate which divides the mortal and divine sides of Creation, and which keeps Gods out of the Material Plane
A titanic, divine creation that sprawls the entire Astral Plane and serves to Divides the Mortal and Divine parts of the Planescape, the Divine Gate was built by the Major Gods after The Advent of The Unraveler to permanently keep the forces of The Anathema Gods out of the Material Plane. Forged by the Major Gods to separate the Inner and Outer Planes and thus the Mortal and Divine parts of creation, it's primary purpose is to prevent a Primordial, Major, or Minor God from manifesting any of their power outside of The Outer Planes. Risen Gods are the exception to this rule, as they can be opposed and defeated by Mortal Ken. Because they are a fusion of Mortality and Divinity, the Divine Gate does not inhibit them, and The Gods see Risen Gods not as true gods, but as Mortals, and thus as the problem of Mortals. Because of this, truly dangerous Risen Gods such as Asmodeus, The Archfiend have been sealed and dealt with through others means outside of the Divine Gate.
The Divine Gate does not prevent Gods from communing and influencing their followers and mortals beyond the Gate, as it does not prohibit their Divine Senses and Speech. They simply cannot personally manifest through it. It also does not prevent Gods from manifest Avatars or choosing mortals to empower as their agents, and these remain as the primary ways with which the Gods can directly influence mortal lives outside of simply communing with them and relying on mortals.
The Divine Gate is also the primary driving purpose for why powerful Outsiders such as Devils, Demons, and Daemons and more cannot enter The Material Plane without being called; The Power of the Divine Gate is so immense that they cannot hope to pass it without a mortal creating a "doorway" for them to pass through. It is also said to be a part of Vvaal, The Bound Obliterator's prison, and a large factor which keeps him sealed away and thus keeps the Planescape safe from his terrifying power.
