Holy Books & Codes

Vvaal has and needs no official holy book or codex, as he tends to make his desires known to his faithful by pressing his primordial and awesome thoughts directly upon their minds. These thoughts primarily concern the destruction of all that exists, of spreading his faith and building up temples to his glory, and freeing him from his ancient tomb.   Although a codified holy text would be anathema to Vvaal's destructive and all-consuming nature, some unofficial writings do exist. The madman Xankorus Kythix long ago wrote the legendary tomes known as "Roads to Oblivion" and "The Infinite Void of the Vestige", two incredibly heretical tomes that, despite many efforts to stamp them out, have become mythical items for Vvaal's faithful who often seek them out to learn more about his unholy nature, as well as tomes sought after by prospective faithful who wish to learn of Vvaal's ways.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Tenets of Faith

Exalt him. Uncover, restore, and exalt forgotten shrines in his honor.

Destroy in his name. Obliterate, Destroy, and Raze all worlds, planes, and realities in preparation for the end of all things.

Feed him. Give power, siphon power, and give strength and life unto The Bound Obliterator until the time of his liberation arrives.

Honor him. Consume, corrupt, and destroy the shrines of other divines where possible to establish new shrines to The Bound Obliterator, and to honor his unholy name.

Holidays

None. Any holidays celebrating Vvaal are almost universally suppressed in civilized lands, and there are no cohesive holidays universal across all sects and congregations.   Some of the rune-scarred madmen who dwell within The Shattered Corridor celebrate an elusive holiday known as "Oblivion's Zenith" sometime in early summer or late spring, and occasionally when select celestial bodies align in the nighttime sky, some congregations celebrate the holiday known as "Voidwake", which can vary in terms of timeframe but often occurs in wintertime.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

To see all of reality consumed, destroyed, and replaced with the infinite oblivion of The Gloam that lies outside the Atlen Shell.

History

One of the only instances where the ancient and ineffable Major God known as The Bound Obliterator has taken an interest in a God or Divine without the intention of killing them, Vvaal has long since taken in interest in The Uttercold Mother, and constantly seeks to worm his way into her Planar Prison, The Uttercold Nucleus, to make contact with her towards some unknown end. Whether he seeks to corrupt or consume her or some other horrific thing, the fact that his ineffable mind has turned its attention towards her bodes well for no-one. The Uttercold Mother for her part refuses his interest and probing curiosity, despite his numerous attempts to burrow and consume his way into her prison.   Whatever his goals are, are unknown, but she despises him all the same...the fact that his faithful tend to take her own faithful alive and offer them up to him in strange rituals does nothing to ease her hatred of him, and has earned The Bound Obliterator of both Gregaia, Lord of the Wild and Sturgeon, The Tidemother for taking such a strange interest in their daughter.   Thankfully, Vvaal is considerably weakened, his core essence locked and hammered beneath The Divine Trammels which bind a majority of his power, and as such he has historically been far too weak to burrow past the defenses of her prison and make contact with her...though, during The Advent of The Unraveler, he managed to penetrate his way into her prison for a scant few seconds, mixing his gnawing oblivion with her freezing Uttercold to make a truly horrific combination before the Major Gods could beat him down long enough to hammer the Divine Trammels which he had shattered back into place and seal him away once more.

No one worships him knowingly but madmen. The real danger is everyone who worships him unknowingly. Behind every facade, behind every cult, behind every mask or lie...Vvaal might just be waiting. Stealing faith like a hungry void, until the day he can break free again.
