The Drifting Reef

The sundered isles broken off of the mainland long ago through cataclysmic force

Map of The Drifting Reef

Geography

The Drifting Reef, as a group of islands once part of the main Eastern Continent, has much the same geography as The Barren Wastes...the islands here are barren and cracked, with rolling sand dunes and dead trees littering the otherwise uninteresting terrain. Though surrounded by the ocean, no fresh water exists on any of the islands here, and only the towering peaks of The Crawling Mountains to the north provides a welcome break from the boring sameness of the landscape.

Fauna & Flora

Almost no flora grows here, with the only examples seen peeking through the dead rocky ground and sandy dunes being dead trees, lifeless bushes and other plants, and other dead flora that has long since dried up and withered away. Only along the coasts of the Islands can anything hope to grow, but even then little else other than seaweed and lichen dares to grow there.   Similarly, almost no animals dare to make their homes here aside from brutal monsters such as Rocs, Purple Worms, and other deadly monsters...no mere animals can hope to thrive here, and as such almost none can be found. Likewise, only the most desperate and daring of creatures venture here, meaning that the only people one might encounter are most likely bandits, outlaws, or those with no where to go or something to hide.   The Reef is also an incredibly popular place for pirates and other rebels or outlaws to hide, and as such the Reef is littered with old and new bases hidden away in the rocky cliffs and sheer sea cliffs along the Reef's coasts where pirates both current and old have made their bases.

Natural Resources

The Drifting Reef has little in the way of natural resources aside from a bounty of fish and other marine life within the waters surrounding it.
