The Event which saw the Elves split into two factions, one that went to live in the arid deserts and one which stayed in their forest home.

An event described in the oldest Elven mythos, The Great Elven Divide saw the formation of the Sand Elves, Forest Elves who, according to myth and legend, had grown tired of the perpetual aloofness, reclusive ways, and arrogance of their kin and decided to go make a better life for themselves elsewhere so they could interact with the outside world...though, the exact details of what happened to cause the divide are forever lost to time.   Leaving their forest lives behind, the newly formed Sand Elves are said to have traveled into the desert and forged themselves a home there.
