The last survivors from the ruins of the last reality gather in the primordial soup leftover from its destruction to begin the process of starting it all anew.
A history of the Planescape and all of reality as is known by the people of the world today.
A time so ancient that it is nothing more than myth and legend, before civilization or culture existed and far before the advent of written or even oral history. The only surviving records from this Age, which is only partially believed to have existed by some, are myths, fables, fairy tails, and similar stories that have undoubtedly been exaggerated as they have been passed down through the ages. Generally, what is considered known about this age is that it marked the final stabilization of the Material Plane where it became capable of supporting life after the birth of reality in the beginning, after the God-Above-All, Atlas, gave his great life to birth the cosmos and the planes. It was a time of immeasurable chaos, power, a time when the Gods were freshly born and still gaining power from the original faith in the elements and raw nature, a time when the Gods were said to walk the Material Plane and elsewhere at their leisure, and when they fought mighty wars with each other and the ancient “High” races in great, cataclysmic battles that shaped the very terrain and carved the continents and oceans.
The last survivors from the ruins of the last reality gather in the primordial soup leftover from its destruction to begin the process of starting it all anew.
The survivors of the old reality, better known now as The Old Gods, make an alliance with The Outer Gods that have existed since before all things to lay the foundation of the new reality.
The Old Gods and The Outer Gods unite and bind one of each of their number to reality itself, two beings of such unfathomable power that together, they might "jumpstart" the birth of a new reality and serve as the anchoring force to keep it in existence, like weights smoothing out a crumpled piece of parchment.
With the Anchors established, The Old Gods and The Outer Gods perform a ritual that will spawn the next reality and create a figure strong enough to give it form.
Atlas, The Ineffable is formed from the primordial soup, and gives his life to form the entire Planescape.
After the formation of reality and the sacrifice of Atlas, The Ineffable, The Outer Gods seal away their home, The Dark Tapestry, away from the larger Great Beyond forming after the Beginning of Reality, hiding it away in the space "between" the stars and reality and sequestering themselves away within it rather than prey upon the infant reality, possibly as part of a deal made with The Old Gods.
The High Vampires take shape fresh in the aftermath of reality's birth, becoming the first creatures to take shape after the death of Atlas, The Ineffable. Each of them is born to represent a different aspect of the reality, given overwhelming power by reality and The Old Gods as the first attempt by The Old Gods to create new life in their own ineffable image.
Following the death of Atlas, The Ineffable, the Gods sprang forth from his fractured and dying essence and took solid shape.
After birthing the gods and all of the Planescape, the dwindling essence of Atlas the Overdeity explodes all across the Planescape, permeating it entirely and filling the bodies and minds of all living and unliving things, a permeating essence that takes root in everything, even the soil, air, water, and everything else....and in the process, gives birth to Magic itself as well as many ancient and powerful outsiders.
Shortly after his formation, Molt, First of the Dead and Father Time takes up his mighty scythe and, to herald his own creation, divides the expansive and comingled Great Beyond into many seperated planes, an inner and outer sphere, and gave concrete shape to reality as well as defined its borders and dimensions. As his final action, he shunted the last free-drifting remains into the space between these Inner and Outer Spheres he had made, creating The Transitive Planes out of the last of the primordial soup and the last free remnants of Atlas's essence.
With the establishment of the Great Beyond, The New Gods create life in the form of the primordial races, to represent key aspects of life and the fundamental building blocks they wished to impart to their creations.
After their creation of the High Vampires which they deemed as failures, The Old Gods realized the failure in their original design and turn their attention to the creations of the new gods, giving The Primordial Races the ability to make more lives themselves and thus reproduce, though in doing so made them mortal(Except the High Elves, who retained their original immortal essence) and fallible.
Though the process began long ago in the aftermath of Atlas, The Ineffable's death, The Lattice finishes forming across the entire Planescape and beyond, and fully awakens and develops a nascent intelligence, freeing itself from the shackles of the New Gods' control and ensuring the concept of Magic would eternally remain unbound to any one being and a thing which chose others to bestow its blessings upon in its own ways rather than those of the New Gods.
The Allfather sets to work upon his Anvil of Creation and begins to forge the elements, minerals, ores, and fundamental facets and assets of The Planescape, forging them all in the span of a week and seeding the entire Planescape with them, burying them in all places underground, in the soil, and in dozens and dozens of other places...and in doing so, gives primordial life the first building blocks it needs to expand.
Using his own immense power, Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon carves out the river of souls, forms the cycle of souls, death and rebirth, and the fundamental laws and constants that bind all realms of The Planescape. Once he does so, he hands dominion over death to Molt, First of the Dead and Father Time, charges him with overseeing death and souls, and declares himself the protector of the cycle, and the Planescape itself and all of its laws and constants.
With the help of The Old Gods and the High Vampires, Primordial Life throws off the shackles of the New Gods and gains independence and freedom from the control of those who made them, thus touching off The Rapture War.
After freeing primordial life from the shackles of the New Gods' control, the High Vampires and the Old Gods go to war with the New Gods for the right to govern this new reality in a war so bloody and violent that it defined the landscape of many worlds on The Material Plane, and eventually resulted in the destruction of the High Vampires.
Primordial Life looks to the stars, and many journey out into The Great Beyond to see what lies beyond the Outer Sphere.
Enraged with the Old Gods for their actions against them in The Rapture War, The New Gods campaign to eliminate The Old Gods for defying their rule, realizing too late of the existence of one of The Anchors, who must be spared in order to preserve reality. The last survivor of The Old Gods, the Anchor, is left to carry on the ways of their kin and abandoned, now the last survivor of The Last Reality.
The expedition sent into The Outer Sphere long ago returns to this reality, corrupted beyond all recognition and twisted into something most unholy as they bring with them a terrible god of destruction from the great beyond...
Realizing the existence of other worlds and other realities that dwell beyond the infinite chaos of The Great Beyond, The New Gods assist The Allfather in the creation of Pangu's Shell, a divine barrier placed around all of The Great Beyond and the Planescape at large to seclude this reality away from all outsiders who would seek to harm it.
With no gods yet born to manage nature and all its bounty, The third primordial uses his divine powers of creation to create a pair of married gods tasked with overseeing nature...one to manage and represent the wild and untamed aspects of the wild, and the other to represent its order and law...in time, these figures would become Gregaia and his wife, whose original name has been lost but now is known as Lolth.
Gathering together as the first of the Primordial Races to become truly civilized, the High Elves found the First City, the city of El-Adri, at the edge of the Planescape as their new home and repository of all their collective knowledge.
The Third Primordial Ingsungr and his new wife band together to create their first children, the Titans. Given shards of their awesome primordial power, these children were mighty things behind comprehension, but were considered failures due to their small numbers and inability to truly reproduce.
The first and greatest civilization of the High Elves fell to ruin as their empire was stricken down by the Gods for daring to strive and ascend into the realm of the divine. For the sins of hubris and more, The High Elven Capital of El-Adri was stricken down and destroyed, labeled forevermore "The Black City" as its people were forced to abandon their metropolis built on the edge of reality and make the long journey across the Planescape to a new home.
After consuming the city of El'Adri in its entirety, Vvaal, The Bound Obliterator releases a sickening wave of unholy energy all across the planescape, giving birth to millions of monsters, abberations, unholy spawn, and monsters of all kinds into reality from the twisted forms of El'Adri's citizens...these monsters would eventually become all the monsters of the current day and more, such as The Divine Beasts of Destruction and more. Many believe this to be the origin point of Necromancy, and when it came into being.
After The Fall of El-Adri, the High Elves set out on a journey across the Planescape beneath the banner of Gail-Idhren to find a new home.
After the creation of the Titans, the Third Primordial gives birth to a new form of life, one much smaller but which still carries the same primordial spark inside of them that promises them greatness...due to his own male-centric beliefs he creates them as an all-male race despite the wishes of his wife. They are considered successful children, and his most mighty creations.
After Vvaal, The Bound Obliterator revealed his existence to the Planescape during his destruction of El'Adri, The New Gods knew they had to take action if they were to preserve the reality they now ruled over, and attacked the fourth primordial of destruction and sealed him away forever at the bottom of the Abyss with the power of seven Divine Trammels.
After a vision given to her by Atlas, The Ineffable himself, Lolth, The Spider Queen uses her power to become a conduit for the Overdeity's might to weave The Web and bind all creatures to the fate the strands of The Web dictate.
The Dwarves of modern day are sculpted and created by the High Dwarves and by Dwulvor the Deathless, who made them and named them in his own image while his kin sculpted the world and gave it shape.
The High Dwarves of yore, having finished their duties and formed the world into what it would be today by both giving it shape, creating millions of races and plants and animals and defined the very building blocks of reality, martyred their lives and went into Eternal Slumber.
As Primordial Life grew and expanded, it soon found the existence of the original manipulators of Atlen and the original arcane casters, the Warlock Bugs. With this discovery, Primordial Life learned the secrets to manipulate Atlen and began to become wizards, sorcerers, and students of Arcane Magic chosen by The Lattice.
The Wife of the Third Primordial tricks her husband into allowing female giants to be born by infusing one of her children with a vast amount of primordial essence, and hiding one away from him until it reaches adulthood and proves superior to his own male giants.
The first Archmage of Primordial Life, Vynoth put forth the first theories on the nature of The Lattice and the fundamental building blocks of reality, postulating on the nature of Atlen and producing several arcane theories and equations that would become the basis for all modern magic...additionally, he invents the first spells and devises the first theories that would become the ranking system for magic, dividing them into "Spell Levels".
The ancestral Dwarven home of Nolrogh, carved for them by Dwulvor the Deathless and the High Dwarves millennia before, undergoes some unknown catastrophe and is lost to the Dwarves. Forced to travel to the surface to escape extinction, they begin a journey so long that they forget the very location and memories of their ancestral homeland.
Forced to abandon their ancestral home of Nolrogh, Dwarves begin a journey to find and carve out a new homeland for themselves and in doing so spread themselves to every corner of the known and unknown world.
The first mortal ascends into Godhood on the planet of Ea through nothing but a collection of faith and personal power, striking fear into the hearts of the New Gods as they realized the terrifying truth and power of the life they had created, and the significance of the planet Ea...
The ancient Elven Goddess who would become Lolth, The Spider Queen betrays her husband in a bid to gain complete dominion over nature, rallying several of her children and others to her cause in the first betrayal of The Age of Creation.
The Betrayal of Lolth ends in failure, and as a punishment for her attempted murder and destruction of her husband and the betrayal she had committed she was stripped of her former name, given the name Lolth, and then exiled into the lands far beneath the ground along with the rest of the corrupted who followed her.
After abandoning and exiling his original wife long ago due to her trickery of him into accepting females and the creation of the Dai-Yukai, the Third Primordial created himself a new wife with whom he had hundreds of children, each an attempt to recreate the perfection of the Jotun but none turning out truly successful...instead, the myriad true giants and Giantkin were birthed and spread across The Planescape.
The Event that would see the Third Primordial Humiliated and Beaten by his former wife, and subsequently vanish from the world as his wife claimed ownership of the Giant Pantheon and exiled him forever.
After his exile and humiliation at the hands of his wife, the Third Primordial vanishes from the Planescape and leaves forever, splitting into two seperate and distinct oceanic gods to manage most of what he once did as a god.
After all the chaos of the Age of Creation, the Major Gods are finally solidified, reality takes its final shape, and all begins to settle from the primordial chaos of the times to give way to an age of Mortal Life.
While not so ancient a time as the times of Pre-History, the Lost Ages are a unique moniker, for they mark an indeterminately long or short period of time that modern creatures of Ea have next to no insight into. Possibly containing multiple Ages inside of it, the Lost Ages are a void in the history of Ea and are commonly held to have had all known records of such a time expunged and erased by the High Humans, though why they could have done so is an utter mystery. The only evidence such an Age or Ages existed is relics found far beneath the earth and architecture found underground which predates even the ancient High Human ruins.
In an unbridled act of savagery and bloodshed in the far distant past, the Dwarves initiate a brutal genocide of the ancient empire of Giants that would culminate in the destruction of most of The Giant Pantheon, the fall of the Giant Empire, and the de-evolution of the Giants into a tribal and barbaric people.
The first of the three ages of High Humanity, the Age of Rebirth marked the ascension of The Aurelian Hegemony of Man to power and the cleansing of the surface world with their technological superweapons, all but sterilizing the surface world and rendering it inhospitable for nearly a century or more. This age is believed to have been the golden age of High Humanity and for the surface world, where they were at their best and brightest point and possibly their greatest rebuilding in the aftermath of the apocalyptic Lost Ages, but almost all records of this age have been lost due to the events of The Age of Calamity, where the races of the world purposefully wiped out all records of High Humanity in an effort to make them as forgotten as possible. It was believed to have been a massively prosperous time for both the The Aurelian Hegemony of Man and the surface over which they came to hold absolute and world-spanning dominion during this time, and when they developed much of the technology that would come to define their latter centuries. It was a massively long era, but one that has been mostly forgotten thanks to the events of The Age of Calamity. Now, almost nothing is known about this age or what transpired within it, and only tangential records remain in the most ancient of ruins that point to events of the time.
A monumental event which saw High Humanity ascend into the skies in floating cities while the world below them burned.
Driders are created by High Humanity as heavy-duty front-line shock troops using the bodies of their fallen enemies.
The Sanctor are created by High Humanity after they captured an immensely powerful Outsider and experimented upon it in their fabled flesh labs.
Not long after ascending into the skies, The Aurelian Hegemony of Man successfully finishes a crusade to unite the entire surface beneath their banner.
The Goliaths are created by High Humanity as a fusion between Dwarven, Giant, and Human blood to be the ultimate front-line combatants and supersoldiers.
Having been nothing more than a scattered and disparate people, nothing more than a tribal, nomadic people living in the most dangerous or desolate locales of the world, the High Lamia begin to unite beneath the banner of a figure named The Scalequeen, who promises them unity, power, and freedom the continued attempts to subjugate them by The Aurelian Hegemony of Man. Their rallying mostly is ignored by the civilized world and by the Hegemony, who recognize it but choose to do nothing about them, seeing the uniting of the High Lamia as something not worth their attention. As they begin to unite into one titanic Supertribe, they begin to grow bolder by the day.
The High Lamia, now united into a Superpack beneath the Scalequeen, grows so bold and brazen they invade the Elven Nation of Kih-Elsai in open defiance of the demands of the Hegemony and the other surface races and nations. In their invasion, they devour every last elf in Kih-Elsai and reduce the entire nation to rubble practically overnight, growing massively in power after digesting so many sentient humanoids.
So bold they now border on arrogance and haughtiness, the High Lamia spit in the face of repeated demands made by The Aurelian Hegemony of Man and the people of the world and successfully launch a campaign against the entire northern continent, devouring almost every sentient creature who lived there and enslaving the survivors and placing them into sprawling meat farms for them to consume at their whims. Out of a desire to avoid another world-spanning war or calamity, The Aurelian Hegemony of Man and the surface races refuse to retaliate against the High Lamia and do not punish them for their actions, merely issuing a warning against further threats.
In an effort to develop a weapon to stop the advance of the High Lamia, The Aurelian Hegemony of Man develops a new race of Stone-Infused creatures designed to be inedible to High Lamian biology, to serve as weapons of war and soldiers.
The High Lamia threaten the world with a mass invasion and world war unless The Aurelian Hegemony of Man capitulates to their demands and gives them an entire section of the continent for them to roam and hunt freely within, free of law or binding as a sort of seperate nation-state. Still fearing the advent of another world war and the suffering it would bring so fresh after The Lost Ages, the Hegemony reluctantly agrees to their terms and signs away a large portion of their surface holdings to the High Lamia for the sake of maintaining a larger world peace.
The misguided war waged by The Aurelian Hegemony of Man against the High Lamia that resulted in their absolute destruction, the destruction of their armies, and their humiliation.
Having reduced the armies of The Aurelian Hegemony of Man to digested slurry and batteries to fuel their own immense power, the High Lamia, now unchecked and unopposed, rampaged freely across the surface of Ea as genocidal conquerors, gulping down millions and enslaving millions more as they began a campaign of carnage that would culminate in the founding of an empire and the complete explusion of the Hegemony from the surface.
The Greatest City on the surface and the last and greatest holdout against the High Lamia, Kalas Valthro, falls to the High Lamia hordes after its king Drogun Raal goes mad and is betrayed by his closest allies.
After their brutal and overwhelming defeat in the first scalewar that saw all their holdings on the surface conquered by the High Lamia, all their surface armies and supporters devoured and digested, and much of their armies and resources eaten and dissolved, The Aurelian Hegemony of Man retreats from the surface and into the sky and abandons it to the cruel and sadistic whims of the High Lamia.
The second of the three ages of High Humanity, the Age of Scales marked the rise of the High Lamia from a group of warring, scattered tribes into a unified empire that, by the end of the age, had not only conquered nearly the entire known world but had also conquered the The Aurelian Hegemony of Man and slurped their citizens, warriors, and leaders down their throats and dissolved them in their stomachs, forming The Aenorian Empire from the dissolved remnants of the world and its people. During this time which many scholars mark as the first beginnings of the descent of High Humanity, the Hegemony was humiliated time and again by the superior power of the High Lamia they fought, losing all three wars the waged against them...each war with progressively higher stakes and more gear and soldiers only to end up dissolving in the stomachs of the beautiful High Lamia as food. The High Lamia during this time were responsible for the extinction of dozens of races and species, and devoured entire populations in massive, gory feasts to celebrate their own supremacy...they made massive strides in culture and civilization until they had, by the end of the age, risen to be on par with The Aurelian Hegemony of Man. They were invincible, gorgeous goddesses that held the entire world beneath their yoke as nothing more than food, and they conquered all creatures, be they Elves, Dwarves, or Men...and it took all the races of the world, led by the Ancient Dragons, to destroy them. The strides they made in culture and civilization, not to mention the scars they left on the races of the world, were so significant they can still be felt in the world today. Ironically, it is the most well-documented of the three Ages of High Humanity. The exact reason is unclear, but many scholars speculate the cause to be the simple fact that this age best portrays High Humanity in the most negative, pathetic light.
Having driven off The Aurelian Hegemony of Man and claimed absolute domination over the previously thought invulnerable High Humans and their technology, the High Lamia, with their enemies and their armies still dissolving in their stomachs, founded a new united empire and that would, at its peak, rule nearly all of the known world and count all races of the world as nothing more than slaves kept around and alive for food and humiliating slavery.
Having founded a continent-spanning empire and kicked The Aurelian Hegemony of Man off of the surface, the Aenorian Empire enters a golden age of progress and unchallenged dominance, leading to an explosion of growth in the sciences, war, and all fields of their civilization.
During the height of their golden age, the high lamia of the Aenorian Empire turn their attention towards the Elves and launch a brutal campaign against them in the hopes of claiming them as their first race of meal-slaves.
After gorging herself on the most powerful Elves and the Elven Royal Line as well as on the broken bodies of millions, the Scalequeen devours enough life that she ascends into godhood, her unique High Lamia biology increasing her power so far she ascends into a higher plane of existence. As a newly born goddess in the flesh, she towers over mountains and is all but immune to mortal weaponry.
No longer satisfied with the Elves and their other enslaved races, the Aenorian Empire turns its attention to the Dwarves and declares war against them, intent on adding the meaty and delicious dwarves to their ever-growing and uncontested array of enslaved races bred for their stomachs and amusement.
The Dwarves fall to the High Lamia in record time, so utterly outmatched by them and their newly ascended God-Queen they endure for barely a few months and are promptly enslaved.
With the Elves and the Dwarves broken and made into slaves alongside most other races on the surface, the Aenorian Empire claims domination and absolute supremacy over all of the known world on the surface, becoming the flawless overlords of all but the skies...all races have been broken to their whims, and no creature born on the surface can escape their destiny to pass between the lips of a High Lamia...all is born as food, and is destined to become such.
In celebration of the Aenorian Empire's 200th anniversary and their domination over all races and life on the surface, the High Lamia hold a gory feast that sends entire species into extinction overnight.
After nearly three hundred years of oppression, the races of the surface begin to rise up against the High Lamia and the Aenorian Empire, backed by The Aurelian Hegemony of Man in a world-spanning plot of subterfuge and trickery that begins to rapidly erode the power base of the Aenorian Empire.
The High Humans of The Aurelian Hegemony of Man reveal their plan and desire to free the world from the grip of the High Lamia.
As their decades long plot of subterfuge and intrigue comes to a head, The Aurelian Hegemony of Man declares open war on The Aenorian Empire which is already on the brink of collapse, their victory all but assured as the surface races all believe and support them wholeheartedly, the end of centuries of violence truly within sight, at long last.
At the height of the Scalewars, in the final hours of the final conflict which will see to the destruction of the Scalequeen and the Aenorian Empire, The Aurelian Hegemony of Man is betrayed as the surface races turn against them for reasons unknown, turning the tide of the war overnight.
The Princesses of the Aenorian Empire retaliate against the betrayed and reeling armies of the Hegemony, singlehandedly crushing and devouring them and swinging the tide of the war back in their favor.
Led by the High Lamia Princesses, the Aenorian Armies outmaneuver and obliterate the remaining armies of the Hegemony in a brilliant battle at the Saccharine Fields, crushing the greatest hope the surface had at freedom and breaking the Hegemony's attempt to destroy them.
A lone High Lamia soldier proves her own superiority and the pitiful weakness of the remnants of the Hegemony's army by finding where the leader of the invasion, a Magister Lord, and his retinue were hiding and single handedly killing them all and capturing the Magister Lord.
Forced to meet on neutral ground for a peace treaty, the High Human envoys are unable to resist the smothering pheremones of the Scalequeen and fall under her mental domination, and are forced to accept humiliating and lopsided terms of defeat.
After the defeat of the Hegemony in the second Scalewar, all the races of the surface lose hope and, with no hope or chance of victory in sight, are utterly and completely broken by the High Lamia. Life itself on the surface becomes so cheap the expected lifespan of the surface race is measured in days, and all surface races are fully purged of their cultural heritage and history by the High Lamia, becoming nothing more than meals devoid of will.
After claiming total dominance over the surface once more and breaking all resistance out of the surface races, the High Lamia begin exterminating all religions except those that praise the Scalequeen and a rare few others gods, leading to the deaths of dozens of organized religions across the world.
After their brutal victory in the second scalewar, the Aenorian Empire begins to advance in culture, technology, and the sciences at a meteoric pace, such that in the span of a short few decades they have nearly reached a level on par with The Aurelian Hegemony of Man.
With their mastery of genetics and the sciences, scientists of the Aenorian Empire experiment on their ancient foe the High Orcs and successfully destablize their genetic code, ensuring a slow and gradual devolution of the entire species over a long period and ensuring the elimination of their higher thought processes.
An adventuring party that rallied together of the most powerful creatures enslaved by the High Lamia concludes its years-long journey to break the powerbase of the High Lamia in the stomach of the Aenorian Empire's Eldest Princess, beaten down and killed in sight of their final goal. The messy public display of power only further breaks the spirits of the surface races, who begin to truly lose all hope and belief that the High Lamia can ever be defeated.
As the surface races cry out to the Ancient Dragons, the only race completely untouched by the High Lamia, for aid and support, the High Dragons instead do nothing but watch, indifferent, to the horrors of the time and instead remain neutral.
In a surprise assault, the Aenorian Empire unlocks the secrets of Advanced Technology and assaults The Aurelian Hegemony of Man in their floating sky citadels.
After their short and brutal war to conquer The Aurelian Hegemony of Man, the High Lamia successful break the backs of their most ancient foe as The Scalequeen, proving her invincibility yet again, devours the ruling council of Magister Lords that govern the Hegemony in a feast broadcast around their empire as she declares The Aurelian Hegemony of Man a vassal state of the Aenorian Empire.
The Aurelian Hegemony of Man is officially conquered and absorbed into The Aenorian Empire after their defeat in the Third Scalewar. They are allowed to retain much of their free will and independence in exchange for becoming a vassal state and working for their new High Lamia overlords.
The foremost scientists of the Aenorian Empire activate their greatest creation, a mechanical tower that will blanket the known world in their choking pheremones and thus enslave all sentient life in the world so that the rule of the Aenorian Empire will be made eternal. With its activation, hope is killed forever as almost all life becomes mindlessly enslaved to the High Lamia. Only a select few races are powerful enough to resist its influence, like the Titans, the Ancient Dragons, and a rare few others.
After the activation of the mindwash tower, nearly all life on Ea is biologically enslaved to the High Lamia, creating a dystopian world where all life moves according to the whims of the High Lamia and where free will has been completely eradicated.
With nearly all living creatures on Ea biologically enslaved to them through the power of the Mindwash Tower, the High Lamia Princesses follow their mother into Godhood after devouring untold millions.
High Lamia, out of pity for the kobolds who experienced similar persecution from the Hegemony during the Age of Rebirth, uplift the small creatures and educate them to become citizens of the Empire, teaching them a myriad of topics, altering their very existences, and giving them a new purpose in life.
Greater Humans first appear in the historical record, whether as a result of High Lamia experimentation on the Human genome or through natural Devolution.
A Dwarven Slave breaks off the shackles of the Mindwash Tower and leads a vast amount of High Lamian slaves into open rebellion.
The High Lamia create the Dragonborn to serve as their mates, advisors, and most trusted aides and lieutenants...an act that draws the ire of the Ancient Dragons and begins to erode their neutrality.
With her power only growing with each creature she consumed and each mindless slave and High Lamia praying to her, the Scalequeen begins rapidly approaching the boundary of becoming one of the Major Gods, striking fear into many of them at the prospect of a divine war with a being powerful enough to consume them.
The Scalequeen launches a doomed attempt to conquer the Ancient Dragons and, after meeting the Dragon Emperor who rules them, is beaten within an inch of her life despite her divinity and left to flee in abject terror as the surface races realize her fallibility.
The Major Gods of Ea refuse to get actively involved in the conflict to let mortals decide their own destinies, but nonetheless give subtle aid to the surface races and begin to raise divine champions to assist them.
With the Scalequeen beaten bloody by The Dragon Emperor, all life held beneath the yoke of the High Lamia rebels, no longer fearing the High Lamia nor their Scalequeen more than they do death or torture. With steely resolve, small pockets of rebels free of the mindwash tower begin to form.
The Dragon Emperor and his Ancient Dragons announce their official declaration of war on the Aenorian Empire with the cataclysmic destruction of The Mindwash Tower, giving hope to the entire world for the first time in centuries.
Leading the charge against The Aenorian Empire, the Ancient Dragons form an alliance with the surface races of the world, namely those of the Elves, the Orcs, the Humans, and the Dwarves, with dozens of other races supporting these five central pillars. With the entire world united for the first time in memory, the entire surface world vows to destroy the High Lamia.
The Five-Way Alliance and the unified surface races declare open war on the High Lamia, with the Dragon Emperor and the Ancient Dragons leading the charge against the oppressors.
In the culmination of the Fourth Scalewar, the Five-Way alliance of Dwarves, Elves, Men, Orcs, and Dragons finally slew the God-Queen of the High Lamia and broke the back of the Aenorian Empire.
The third and final age of High Humanity, the Age of Calamity begun with the triumphant defeat of the Aenorian Empire of the High Lamia, but quickly devolved into nothing but chaos as the races returned to infighting. The High Humans returned to their empire in the sky and redoubled their cruelties, becoming tyrannical overlords that eventually forced the surface races into open rebellion that would eventually see them exterminated, and The Aurelian Hegemony of Man destroyed utterly. It was during this age that all the cultural, scientific, racial, and political progress of the past several milennia were lost forever and utterly destroyed in the calamitous events that gave the age its name, propelling the world back into nearly a milennia of barbarism as a result. Many records of this age have been destroyed, but enough has remained to form a loose record of its events.
After the death of the Scalequeen, the Aenorian Empire falls and the Five-Way Alliance successfully exterminates the majority of the High Lamia, using forbidden High Human technology to forcibly De-Evolve the rest into the normal Lamia of the modern day.
Several years after the fall of the Aenorian Empire, the relationship between the all the races of Ea begins to sour as they begin to blame one another for allowing the High Lamia to become so powerful. The Hegemony is blamed for abandoning the surface, the surface is blamed for abandoning the Hegemony, and all begin to grow hateful and suspicious of one another.
After several decades recouping their losses incurred during the Age of Scales, The Aurelian Hegemony of Man begins to once against expand its empire across Ea under the pretense of rallying the races of the world together to stand against another calamity. The races of the world, having just recovered from a global empire, vehemently dislike this act.
During their expansion, the armies of the Hegemony are met at the large surface town of Salchin by a horde of unarmed surface races, peacefully protesting their expansion. After a very tense few days, the Hegemony leaves Salchin and moves on, almost attacking but halting at the last second. With this, tensions only rise further between the Hegemony and the surface.
Several decades after the beginning of the age, the Five-Way alliance dissolves as its member races, now free of tyranny, are unable to stay united and cohesive in the face of Hegemony Expansion and pursuing of their own goals. With its dissolution, the last hope for an easy solution to the rising hatred is assumed lost.
After the dissolution of the alliance they heralded the founding of, the Ancient Dragons, led by the Dragon Emperor, annoyed with mortal hubris that led to the alliance's dissolution, found a nation on the surface where Dragons and those willing to live alongside them(and pay the appropriate fees and taxes) can live free of the Hegemony or other surface races.
Formerly united into one titanic whole, the rapidly growing Wulven tribes grow too large and unwieldy to remain true to their ancestral ways of a Wulven High King, and are forcibly disbanded into 8 superpacks and sent to different corners of the continent of Corexus by their High King, Muzaka.
Some time after they began to re-expand their empire, The Aurelian Hegemony of Man officially returns to its old imperialistic ways despite the protests of the surface races under the pretense of establishing a firm, united land that will never fall to such a threat as the High Lamia. Unlike during the Age of Rebirth, they will ensure ALL the world is under their sway, so as to prevent any such rises to power again, for the good of the world. This only serves to further drive the surface races to hatred of them, and stoke the fires of growing calamity.
The Hegemony intervenes on behalf of The Dragonborn, who were being hunted to extinction as vile abominations made by the High Lamia the age prior by the surface races. Seeing potential in them, the Hegemony intervened on their behalf and saves them from extinction. Despite the goodness of the act, the act only angers the surface races, who now lose a target to wreak their anger on the High Lamia against and instead direct it at the Hegemony.
Unfased in the rising anger of the surface directed at them, the Hegemony continues its imperialism by beginning radical humanitarian campaigns to help the surface races, and despite their desires to not be helped the Hegemony forces their goodwill onto those they help regardless of their wishes.
Helped back to a stable population and uplifted into civilization by the Hegemony, the Dragonborn disperse across Ea now that they are suitably prepared for such a journey.
The Aurelian Hegemony of Man launches a great crusade to finally crush and cleanse the most barbarous and vile places on the surface of Ea, with the goal of wiping out the last of the barbaric and uncivilized peoples in the world and force them into civilization...or crush them if they refuse.
The Giants in the frigid center of Corexus begin to unite beneath the banner of a Giant King named Hlodvi, forming a cohesive civilization for the first time since The Jotunhunts.
After uniting almost all the known world beneath their banner once more during The Great Crusade, the Hegemony begins to become more cruel in their management of the surface for the sake of the greater good, citing it as their divine right after saving the world in ages past, and bringing civilization and culture to a barbaric world. The races of the world begin to resent them more and more, and begin discussing uniting against them and taking action, to prevent another calamity like the High Lamia.
The Hegemony begins to forcibly draft the surface races into its armies to replenish their losses in their wars against the Ancient Dragons and in the Great Crusade.
The surface races, fed up with the Hegemony and all of its misdeeds, unite to stand against them and issue a worldwide embargo of The Aurelian Hegemony of Man, demanding they leave the surface alone and give them independence or else they will revolt against their injustices and overthrow them.
In the face of the embargo levvied against them, The Aurelian Hegemony of Man, furious, warns the surface races of continuing down this path unless they wish to see the true wrath they can bring down upon them. Submit, they say, or be brought into line by force.
Stoic in the face of the Hegemony's threat, the races of the world band together into a global alliance, founding the nation of Galdrada as a formal declaration of their unity and desire to never again bow to the Hegemony, or any other power's wishes. They found it to give all creatures a utopia to live freely and in peace.
During a very tense diplomatic meeting between the Hegemony and Galdrada, a single touchy guardsman fires his weapon and instigates a genocide of both sides' parties. The hoped for peace is instantly shattered, and war seems all but assured.
After decades of skirmishes and border conflicts with the Hegemony, the races of the surface utilize an ancient superweapon known as The Jade Lance to destroy one of the Hegemony's floating cities as it floats dozens of miles above Ea in orbit, instantly touching off the second world war of Ea's history in a bold first strike against their ancient foe.
Sparked off by the destruction of one of their cities by the surface, The Aurelian Hegemony of Man instantly declares war on the surface and all of Ea is engulfed in a war that rages for decades. Ancient technological superweapons even older than the Hegemony and the Age of Rebirth itself are utilized by the surface to match the Hegemony's technological advantage, which scar and corrupt vast chunks of the surface of Ea. The Wild Lands takes the brunt of this wrath, and goes from a verdant jungle and plains to a broken, scarred wasteland as dozens of superweapons scar its surface and many of the Hegemony's ships are knocked out of the sky and fall into the ground.
In a brutal display of overwhelming power, The Aurelian Hegemony of Man brings their most evil and reality-quaking weapon to bear upon the surface to end the war: Using a massive Magical Cannon known as ETHERION, they turn dozens of miles of land to smoking glass in an instant, burning away the capital of the surface races and instantly ending the war in a single act of infinite cruelty heard around the world.
In the aftermath of the Day of Silent Glass, the latent energies of the ETHERION cannon fired by the Hegemony to end the war activate and mutate the latent seed placed in the High Orcs by the High Lamia, causing them to devolve into the normal Orcs of the modern day as intelligence, wisdom, and their minds decay until they are little more than raging, frothing beasts and barbarians.
A succubus founds a kingdom on the mortal plane by beguiling thousands with promises of pleasure and satisfaction in the wake of the apocalyptic firing of the ETHERION cannon.
In the aftermath of the War of a dozen Cataclysms and the firing of the ETHERION cannon, countless humans emigrate from the Hegemony to the surface to make a life for themselves outside of the Empire they have grown disillusioned with, and spread across the surface of Ea to join their barbarous kinsmen and the surface races.
This period of time has been lost to history, as during this time all historical records simply vanish, as if nothing happened or time stopped for nearly four decades. It is a great mystery to modern scholars that remains unsolved.
The first Ursini appear in the historical record at this point, though their source or origin is unknown. They may have appeared during the Forgotten Times, may have been made, evolved, or something else, but nothing has ever been determined.
Seeing no other option, the races of the world make plans and alliances in secret, led by the Ancient Dragons and the Dragon Emperor, to rise up and destroy the Hegemony and High Humanity once and for all for the good of the world. With the firing of the ETHERION cannon, all races stand united in opposition to their fathomless evil.
The Event that marked the downfall of the High Humans and their civilization which had become so powerful and notoriously evil that they even dared to reach into the realms of the gods and attempt to lay them low, earning the Ire of the Gods and all surface races.
The age that immediately came after the Age of High Humanity, the Age of Barbarity was one that most in the current age know to be of violence, ignorance, and numerous cataclysms that wracked the very core of Ea and destroyed the landscape itself. With the fall of the high humans, surviving records of the time show modern historians that creatures regressed to tribal, territorial lifestyles in the aftermath of the Ultimate Cataclysm that brought the stone cities of the High Humans crashing into the landscape. Turning to faith and piety to make sense of the insanity of the times, the tribal people that were a mix of both devolving high races and the newly created abominations of the high humans escaped from their now defunct flesh labs that would later become the Driders, Sanctors, and countless other species turning to the gods for salvation...it was a time when all that once was began to decay and devolve into things less bright, and by the end of the age almost all of the beauty that had been created and all the advancements and progress made in the Ages of High Humanity were gone, and replaced with a duller, darker world.
After the fall of The Aurelian Hegemony of Man, the races of the world purposefully destroy much of the historical record of the past three ages and thousands of years of cultural and scientific progress out of hatred for the Hegemony.
An event which marked the rise of the Minor Goddess Kosm into a God to rival even the Primordial gods themselves.
The Event which saw the Elves split into two factions, one that went to live in the arid deserts and one which stayed in their forest home.
A schism that ruptured the very concept of the newly empowered Goddess Kosm, and led to the birth of Kos as a Major Deity.
The time in history that saw the Goddess of Oblivion summoned to the material plane to wreak her mindless fury upon the races that dwelled there, and saw the shattering of the central continent, sending the center parts of Ea into the depths of the ocean as the massive whirlpools known as the Obliteration Reefs came into existence...
The first age that truly marks the beginning of the modern age, the Age of Heroes was a golden age of heroes, of legends and myths where civilizations and cultures rose back to prominence and power not seen since the Age of High Humanity. With culture and class, heroes began to emerge to carve their names into history through great acts of heroism or legend. Be it hunts for great mythical beasts, acts of great selflessness or saving a great many people, this age is well-documented and well-kept, and through these actions the newly resurgent civilizations surged and began to reclaim lost ground lost ages before, exploring the ruined high human cities and reclaiming was was truly lost so long ago. The Age of Heroes marked the beginning of many heroes, legends, and great events that would be known for years in the future, where the East finally began to emerge from its shell of nonstop, unending warfare as a young, two-tailed Kitsune Girl named Tamamo began to emerge as a grand warlord to lead it out of the dark ages, the west’s many nations solidified their boundaries and politics...sadly, it was ended with the great event known as “The Sundering”, where the Desert Elves lost their one and only home, and became a people on the verge of extinction.
With the untold destruction wrought by Hyldrin, The Unraveler, even after her banishment, vast swathes of the continent of Corexus and land all over the surface of Ea break apart and fragment, sinking into the ocean as untold millions die in the span of hours. Those attuned to psychic energy and the suffering others experienced so much psychic and emotional feedback from the deaths of so many that many simply died on the spot, gods vanished as their followers did, and Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon fell into an apathy at such death and misery that he could not be roused from for nearly a century.
The moment where, in a single world-changing moment, the once vibrant and verdant desert of the south was exterminated of nearly all life, where entire peoples were sent into extinction, and where the Sand Elven people as a race were driven to the brink of extinction bereft of hope and their home...the world tree.
The previous age to the current one, the Age of Warring States was a time where, just after culture and been reclaimed and began to stand tall once again after eons of pain and strife...civilization reverted to the only thing it truly knew how to do: War. The newly established nations in the west immediately descended into absolute and total war which was kicked off by “The Sundering”, the vanishing of the Desert Elves’ Home, the Divine Tree, and scouring of the desert of nearly all organic life. With that horrific event as the impetus, the Age of Warring States was marked by unending war, backroom politics and backstabbing, families betraying families and blood betraying blood...and all the while, the East continued down its path into peace thanks to the Emerging Kitsune Warlord Tamamo, who, during this time, completely conquered the Eastern Continent and instituted herself as the Empress of it all at the end of it. However, after several hundred years of violence and warfare, the age finally came to an end as the nations, driven by countless political and material motiviations, brought their violence to an end thanks to the efforts of several national leaders who had grown sick of the endless violence...namely, Barkhan of Venau, The Patriarch of the Coalition, and surprisingly, The Erlking of the Woodland Elves, who broke the long silence of the Elvenwood to be the final and most vocal voice for peace.
In the aftermath of The Sundering that destroyed the civilization of the Desert Elves and cleansed the entire southern desert of aany semblance of order or rule, the many nations of the west began a mad scramble to be the first to claim the now unruled land of the desert for themselves, kicking off dozens of wars and skirmishes against each other in the process.
The Legendary Lich-King sets out on a march that would result in the total razing of Sul-Dracon, capital of Draconia.
A war fought by the Kitsune Warlord Tamamo-No-Mae for control over the eastern continent.
The landmark event that marked the founding of The Imperium, a nation founded by the legendary Kitsune Tamamo-No-Mae, which finally brought peace and prosperity to the previously warring peoples who called the eastern continent home.
The event which marked the end of centuries of unending conflict and bloodshed, and brought the nations of Western Ea together into harmony...
