The Crown's Hammer
These is a small, elite unit within the Royal Guard of the Kingdom of Tarrel. The unit consists of 13 picked knights who undertake especially important and dangerous missions for the crown. The knights have all had their fighting prowess enhanced with magical weapons and armor. Beyond this it is general knowledge that these warriors have been strengthened and toughened through the consumption of a battery of magical potions and an exacting training regime.
The members of the unit are known as Hammermen regardless of the knight's gender. (the unit does contain two women). The Hammermen are universally tall, strong and powerfullly built. They ride the finest warhorses and wear bright green cloaks and silver armor making them especially eye catching.
Structure
This is a small unit with Princess Vellera in overall command and a single Knight Commander and a Knight lieutenant serving beneath her. The rank and file consists of the eleven Hammermen. Court magicians and other members of the Royal Guard are often attached to the unit.
Culture
The unit has a code of strict obedience and ferocity in combat.

To serve and protect the Royal House of Tarrel by punishing and detroying the King's enemies.
Assets
The unit has it's own barricks within the Royal Guard Compound in Berstanna. It has a stable of 30 first rate warhorses. It armory consists of magical armor, shields and weapons which help make a redoubtable fighting force.
History
The Unit was formed a decade on orders of King Pellnar or Tarrel with his daughter Princess Vellera being placed in overall command. The unit's overarching goal was to find a destroy disloyal members of the Kingdom's nobility and wealthy merchant class. Under Vellera's command the unit has built a reputation for extremel, but carefully directed violence. The Crown's Hammer has built a fearsome recrd of massacre, torture and general mayhem on the King's enemies. Most notably the destruction of Baron Dellatar's armed retinue and entire family when the noble man tried to organize a rebellion against the King. Currently, the Crown's Hammer is primarily engaged in efforts to huntdown Kellios, the Man of Iron, the King's most determined enemy.
