King Pellnar Althor Sarvis
Pellnar is among the most powerful wizards in the known world. Human by birth, Pellnar has mastered life extending magic and is thought to be roughly 250 years old. He is described as a handsome man in early middle age with a nearly trimmed beard and longish hair. He typically wears beautiful brocaded robes and sports a variety of magical jewelry. He surrounds himself with members of his own extended clan, many of whom are powerful spell-casters. Pellnar rules the mid-sized Kingdom of Tarrel, a position that he uses to enrich himself, his family and his loyal associates. He rules from his heavily fortified palace at Margossa, which he seldom leaves. Pellnar has many enemies and despite his power, he fears they might find a way to strike at him if he leaves the security of his palace, thus he only ventures beyond its confines if he has urgent and very important business elsewhere. He is becoming increasingly concerned about the efforts of Skellios, the Man of Iron, a former associate that he cursed after Skellios seduced one of his daughters. Skellios and his gang of Iron Men have killed a number of Pellnar’s family members including one of his sons. They have also launched a number of attacks in frontier areas of the Kingdom of Tarrel.

Heterosexual. As is common for northern nobles, Pellnar has multiple wives, currently he has three and several mistresses.
Pellnar was educated by the finest tutors and by renown wizards. By his early teenage years he was a magical prodigy and worked on building a great library of magical texts.
Pellnar was the heir apparent for the throne of Tarrel. He became King in his early twenties after his father died on the battlefield.
Pellnar inherited the crown from his father at a relatively early age. He shoed himself to be a capable, if ruthless monarch, who quickly established his dominance over his native kingdom's often disobedient nobility.
Pellnar is increasingly disturbed about the inability of his forces to hunt down and destroy the men of Iron. He is mortified that he cannot protect members of the Royal Clan from attack by the Iron Men.
Pellnar has become increasingly fearful of the efforts of the Iron men trying to balance between trying to destroy them and avoiding making himself or his relatives a target for the Iron Men.
Pellnar generally comes off as calculating and vindictive.
Pellnar values being feared and respected. To this end, he has employed the infamous Geyer family to find and interrogate his enemies then make a spectacle of their execution.

History
Kellios was Pellnar's right-hand man for five years carrying mission of high importance for the King. Kellios however had a torrid affair with Pellnar's daughter Gallia. When Pellnar found out he had Kellios imprisoned and cast a terrible wasting curse on him, which caused his flesh to slowly rot away. Before the effects of the curse had reached an advanced state, Kellios escaped and fled the country. He spent the next year desperately looking for someone powerful enough to lift the curse, but was unable to find someone with both the power and willingness to do so. Kellios then used his considerable wealth to have an alchemist build him an iron golem body. Kellios then had his increasingly damaged body sealed inside the golem. Since this time, Skellios has been working on his vengeance against the king and his family. He has targeted any member of Pellnar's extended clan that he can get at. So far he has killed one of Pellnar's adult sons and two of his nephews.
