Jaunt Drive

A sleek white plastic trigger that emits a holographic projection of the user several yards in front of her. Jaunt drives were used by Erryl ground troops to compensate for their slow walking pace.   The jaunt drive was originally studied by the White Lion Armada in order to create artifices for mass deployment. Simon stumbled across the jaunt drive during Princess Halle's Nineteenth Birthday, but found moral scruples stealing it (even from the White Lion Armada). Princess Halle had no such scruples, and appropriated it for herself when she escaped the palace to search for Sena beneath Lion City when he was captured by the guilt daemon.   The jaunt drive changed hands again when Halle joined the crew, being appropriated by Itthis for use during encounters--much to the bane of his slow-footed enemies and many intricate puzzles and traps that his adventures throw in his way.  
Effect: As a Simple Action, the user may consume a Sprint to jaunt a distance up to her Pacein a straight line. Jaunting ignores hazardous and Difficult Terrain and does not invoke attacks of opportunity.   Discovery Affinity (DC 3) Hyperlight Escape. The jaunt drive’s teleportation capabilities may be used to automatically succeed at any Escape Test.   Familiarity Affinity (5) Twitch Jaunting. The user can activate her jaunt drive in a moment of peril to avoid taking damage. When she succeeds on a Dodge test, she may jaunt a distance up to her Pace in a straight line by consuming a Sprint   Familiarity Affinity (5) Jaunt field. The user may elect to carry any Engaged or Grappled ally or opponent with her when she jaunts. Jaunted opponents incur Attacks of Opportunity if they land in a threatened square and using a jaunt field only consumes one Sprint
