Lich

Basic Information

Anatomy

Lichdom does not change the basic body structure. Newly-made liches resemble their living selves, and older liches look increasingly like rotting corpses.

Genetics and Reproduction

Liches cannot reproduce by mundane methods. The only way new liches come into being is when a living sapient is the target of a secret necromantic ritual which only the strongest of arcane casters can perform.

Biological Cycle

Liches' bodies tend to degrade over time, just as any corpse would, although they may be able to magically preserve their flesh to increase its staying power, especially if they regularly feed their phylactery with souls. A lich which does not regularly feed its phylactery will degrade until only its head is left, at which point it is referred to as a demilich. Still almost as powerful and dangerous as a lich at full power, the demilich only has to feed one sapient to its phylactery to regain its full strength.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Liches have truesight, which means they can see through illusions.
