Das Verlorene Bild

The Lost Image aka Image Lost

In the late 1920s, the now infumous filmmaker Werner Hoffmann (Belived now to be an alias of Henrich Hoffman) embarks on creating a silent masterpiece, "Das Verlorene Bild." The film is said to explore themes of obsession, forbidden art, and the mystical powers of an ancient painting.

The story centers around Friedrich Müller, a tormented artist who becomes captivated by a legendary painting rumored to have supernatural qualities. The painting, known as "Das Verlorene Bild," is said to steal the souls of those depicted within its frame. Ignoring the ominous warnings, Müller incorporates the lost image into his latest masterpiece, unaware of the impending tragedy.

Historical Details

History

The tragedy happened during the wrap party where the entire cast got together for a screening of the movie. And for unknown reasons a fire broke out and everyone was killed. The press made it out that ending was reminiscent of the ending of the movie with the main character perished in a fire.

No explanation of the cause of the fire was ever found.

Rumors were that the director escaped the blaze and could have been the culprit all along. Nothing ever came of that investigation either, as the suspected real identity of the director Heinrich Hoffman was proven false as he was still alive and seen the same night of the other side of the country attending a Nazi Party Gathering.

There have been several claims that the movie have turned up thought the years, none of them confirmed. Phenomen-X did an episode on this in the early 90's trying to link it to Hitler and the Nazi Party. Claiming that the movie was shown in Argentina and caused a warehouse fire that claimed 18 lives.

Then after the The Uphaar tragedy in India, they tired again to bring light to this movie. This was seen as especially tasteless even by their standards and was received porely by the audience.
