New Zanaosta

A Dwarven city of Moderate size and earnest faith. The City itself is a kind of memorial marking the Ruins of the original dwarven colony that was destroyed over five hundred years ago by the Yuan-ti Empire of Apophia. This event would spark a long drawn out war that would reshape the region into what it has become today. As a result the ruins became a sort of memorial in which the Descendant's of Dwain would make a pilgrimage to in order to pay their respects to their fallen kin and ancestors. Eventually the city rebuild itself the ruins turned into crypts and catacombs for which the dwarves lay their departed to rest and had become the center for Tradition and Ceremony of the Dwarven Culture in the Barony of Stone.   As such the citizens of New Zanaosta as it has come to be called are more apt to be religious than others in the Barony. The Tragedy that befell the residents of the old city has made New Zanaosta the center for Dwarven folk who cherish life, and as such the worship of the dwarven Goddesses Sharindlar and Berronar Truesilver are quite popular within the city having multiple churches and temples in their name. The Clerics of such Goddesses are also apt to be members of the towns  government system be it as Public Servants, Merchant Guild Members, or Caretakers of the many Historical Sites and Memorials that dot the city.     Memorials and Churches in the city draw many travelers of both Dwarven and Human decent. Humans are particularly drawn to the Zenith memorial which records the tale and is in honor of a Famous Special Forces group that is credited with Helping end the Yuan-ti War all those years ago.  Other sites include The Truesilver Cathedral a place of counsel and wisdom for Dwarven folk seeking guidance in life, The Sharindlar House which is actually a church where many dwarves go to preform marriages and other familial ceremonies, and The Catacombs an expansive network of underground Mausoleums where many of the Nations Rich and Famous families lay their loved ones to rest under the watchful eye of Clerics who dedicate themselves to the memory of the dearly departed.     Adventurers had best be on their best behavior as New Zanaosta also hosts the Lawmasters Academy, a place dedicated to training the best Investigators, Judges and Men and Women of Law within the Barony of Stone.  The Lawmasters Academy draws students from across Zelltross and beyond and as such has become renowned by all races not just Dwarvenkind.  Thanks to the academy the city enjoys a diligent if not sometimes naive security force as the guards in New Zanaosta are often Recruits volunteering from the Lawmaster Academy. These recruits are eager to serve their communities and gain on the job experience for their various fields of study.
