Covenant Prince
Qualifications
The Covenant chooses their princes not only from the most powerful metabeings who server, but also the ones who have the best control of their abilites. This is doubly so for Princes, as they are the regulators of the various Barons who tend to grow restless if The Exodus doesn't proceed as expected.
Appointment
The ceremony for the ascension of a Prince is shrouded in mystery. What is known is that all the existing Princes and Barons are summoned to the Highlord's Citadel. After a short time, the participants return with the new Prince appointed and a quick handoff of power follows.
Benefits
A Prince is granted a domain, usually a quarter of the planet the Covenant is occupying at any one time. The Prince is allowed to claim a city as their seat, and rule the nearby areas. They are required to delegate the rest of their domain to Barons under their command.
Prince's are also granted a Citadel, which makes them a force to be reckoned with.
Accoutrements & Equipment
Covenant Princes are bestowed powerful armor generated by the Highlord's Forge upon appointment. The armor is specifcally designed to amplify the Prince's specific powers.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
Princehood is usually a appointment for life, though there are said to be Princes who were demoted or removed from their station for deriliction of duty, as judged by the Highlord. Since there are many Barons craving the seat of power, Princes need to play the game of politics carefully to avoid being manuevered into a place where they could be judged insufficient.
Notable Holders
Albion was the longest standing Prince, having participated in all the steps of The Exodus. As Gatecrasher he has given his choice of Principalities with each jump. He was noted to be a kind and just Prince that all others were held up to.
