Winnie is a seventeen-year-old girl who is fed up with people being afraid of her.

Winnie has felt attraction to all genders. Her first kiss was with a girl at fifteen, but she hasn't really had crushes since. In modern terms she's on the aromantic/demisexual spectrum. She has never felt the desire to have children or to be married. When she gets her period, she hates it because she gets bad cramps and is prone to headaches and migraines. This world has some spells that could help alleviate symptoms, but Winnie does not have access to them.

Education

Winnie went to the local school until last year, at age sixteen, when most stop attending unless they intend to go to a university outside of the town. It used to be (as in their parent's generation) that at sixteen, women were often married, and so they were not expected to go to school after the ceremony. However now, that is less expected, and all genders can receive an apprenticeship if they so desire.

Employment

Winnie has helped her father with the bakery, but does not earn much other than minimal spending money. She saves this for the market each year that brings a book stall, which has books and scrolls from across the continent. Her father would be happy with her taking over the family business, but also knows better than to push his store on her. The bakery has provided Winnie a sanctuary, where she is needed and not avoided or feared.

Mental Trauma

• Almost drowning in a storm that destroyed their whole house. She was saved by Odette, who now holds a fierce level of protection for her.

Winnie believes in the Mother Goddess pantheon abstractly, taken for granted. It's something she grew up with and doesn't question. She isn't pious, really, but she acknowledges their existence and believes in the faith, especially since Sylvie works in the oracle order.

Wealth & Financial state

Winnie has minimal disposable income. Her parents are secure and stable, but not enough to offer large dowries even if that were still a common practice. (It is mostly used in upper society.) What money she does have comes from her work in the family bakery.
