Being easy with women all his life, Hamath eventually fell in love with a daughter of Druan, Haleth Druan. He married her despite her bastart status and took her to be his queen. During her lifetime, it was said that he never touched another woman. 
Hamath became very protective of his family and grew close to his mother-in-law. Not wanting to bow to Marlekyle of Valka after their defeat in RY 825, Hamath attacked the Solar Exalted during his surrender. He was cut down by Marlekyle's bodyguards.
