Kentri
Before the Collapse, there existed a small scattering of people who had turned away from the vices of civilization. Embracing the natural world and the creatures that inhabited it, these folk were scorned by the rest of the Cres. So they kept to themselves, in the wildest of places where others would dare not tread. There they found a place for themselves. In small groups, and often alone, they forged a life for themselves among nature. Contact between them was infrequent, but they were a community all the same. Maybe even more so than those they left behind.
Eventually, some of these individuals came to the attention of the Beast inhabiting the same wilds. At first the people were scared of the intelligent creatures, but the Beasts saw in them people with worth and aided them in surviving the harsh life in the wild. These relationships grew into real bonds of friendship and camaraderie over time, and eventually lead to the first Contract. No one knows any exact information on the circumstances that lead to the first Contract, but from that point on the people who left civilization behind became known as the Kentri, the people of Contracts.
The Kentri were forgotten by the rest of the world after the Collapse, living on only as tales to scare young children. Even now they continue their individualistic lives all across the land. And when someone feels the call of the wild, or becomes disillusioned with the trappings of city life, the Kentri wait with open arms. Just lose yourself in the wild. They will find you.

Relationship Ideals
The Kentri live difficult lives, and as such look for partners who can pull their weight in the wild. The ideal relationship for them is a mirror of the relationship between a Beast and a Kentri: equality. Relying on each other's strength, and bolstering each other's weaknesses. A perfect Kentri pair, whether romantic or not, create a sum many times greater than it's parts.

I am quite intrigued by these Kentri and their "contract". Using tooltips (bbcode) or even just the sidebar to clarify some of the terms used in the article (like the contract, or the collapse). I would love to learn more about the kind of relationship that these people and the "beasts" have.
Thanks for the comment! And ya I am slowly filling in details of the world as summer camp goes. A lot of terms likely are confusing people right now haha, I'm using this as a method for me to help guide my worldbuilding so there is a lot of stuff still floating around. The Contract you mention is a very large part of not only the Kentri people, but of the entire world and the story I am going to tell in it. Its a major and very unique application of the magic system of the world :) I'll try to fill in info on both it and the Collapse when I get the chance. And honestly, thanks again for the interest. As an amateur like myself, who so often looks at things I've created and only sees the bad, it is so incredibly validating to get feedback like this. You really did make my day
